Review Summary

Have used this lens for Aviation photography for almost 2 years now, i understand this is a starter lens, usually on a starter camera, (T7) but this lens definitely has some problems. Zooming past 150-200 mm cooks the sharpness, but after mastering the lens, it can be a manageable loose cannon, getting sharper images after figuring out camera settings and prime focal lengths. Going from this lens to the EF 100-400, is a whole different experience. The 75-300 is a decent starter lens and i won't discredit it, it has got me some of my best photos, (somehow) but in conclusion, there are definitely better lenses out there. Cheers.

The only canon product i've ever been disappointed with. I've owned this lens for about 12 years now, it's about as sharp as a balloon. Soft focus galore on every single shot. When I sold my T3 (which this lens came with) I refused to sell this lens to the buyer, as this lens almost made me quit photography. I was convinced I didnt know what I was doing, however, when I purchased an L series lens suddenly my results became useable. I was able to definitively determine that this lens was the cause of my poorly focused images.

I got this as a gift from my Grandpa and I love it so far. Given me some really great shots, a little less zoom than I need for a lot of my shots but that's not Canon's fault.

Lens was exactly as described and fit the canon camera I search for. Shipping was very reasonable and it was an overall great experience. I will think of adorama first for any future photography purchases.

Great lens! I've gotten closeup shots of bees on flowers from feet away that were almost as good as a macro. Good enough range for sports, or wildlife too

Great 75-300mm lens for your photos. Easily able to hot swap from one lens to another. This lens gave me more range to shoot thing even further in landscape photography.

I bought this lens 6 weeks ago and have been very impressed with it thus far. The only reason I didn't give it a five star rating is I don't believe it was intended to be a five star telephoto lens. Light weight, easy to use, and taking impressive shots of birds in flight I have no complaints. If this lens can freeze a hummingbird's wings in flight and make a sharp clear portrait of it then I got my money's worth. And indeed, I got my money's worth. I'm glad I got it added to my glass.

Very pleased with my new light weight telephoto lens and everything that came with it. It's not easy to carry my 150-600mm lens around all the time. Great backup.

Super great lens is shooting with a tripod! I use it for Astrophotography and I can get great shots of the Orion Nebula with no telescope in a single image.

I give this lens 5 stars based on its overall quality:value ratio. To be clear, it is not comparable to the 70-200 f2.8 (or even the f4) with image stabilization, but at its amazingly low price point, this is a very good lens. I purchased mine about two years ago as an inexpensive (on a "deal of the day" sale, around $100) emergency backup lens. Opened the box, attached it to my 6D M1, ran a few test shots, then tucked it into my bag where it has stayed until this past week. Recently, I attended a concert at a venue that allowed cameras but no flash or "pro" lenses, so I was unable to pull out my 70-200 f2.8 IS. Without terribly great expectations, I decided to give the 75-300 some work. Much to my surprise, this lens yielded very good image quality; even at 300mm, the labels on the guitars and drum heads could be clearly read. My distance to the subjects ranged between 60-80 feet. I didn't experience any of the soft focus or vignetting issues mentioned in other reviews. My camera was a 6D M2 shooting at ISOs between 8000-10,000. A number of the reviews mention the need to use a tripod, but all of my shooting was handheld and I had no problems with shake as long as I kept the shutter speed above 1/125. A couple sample photos attached. IS is a great feature, but anyone who's been shooting before IS existed should know how to brace a camera without using a tripod. The lens is extremely light and easy to hand hold, and the extra 100mm (vs the 70-200) of reach proved very beneficial. For photographers who need telephoto capability but are on a tight budget (or those that just want to have a lightweight backup to their "big" lenses), this 73-300 is a decent piece of glass to have in your bag

No space? No problem! Here's how you can set up a studio in a small space. You need two things to set up a home studio: First, the physical space to place the gear, and second, the will to do it, which is often the only thing standing between you and setting up a home studio.

I want to buy a zoom Lens. I have a cannon rebel t7 . does it fit this camera??
Great for action shots and close ups.
By Cheer M.
This lens is fantastic. My daughter is a competitive cheerleader and I am always up in the stands trying to get decent pictures. With this lens it is as if I am right next to her. The close ups and actions shots are fantastic. Would recommend to anyone - especially a beginner like me. Takes excellent pictures!
What sets the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Lens apart is its compact and lightweight design, making it a perfect companion for capturing high-quality sports, portrait, and wildlife photography. This 4x telephoto zoom lens boasts a silver ring on the front part of the zoom ring, adding a touch of luxury to its aesthetic appeal.
The lens shares the same optical system, construction, and exterior as the EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM, but with a key difference - it utilizes a DC motor instead of a USM to drive the autofocus (AF). This feature ensures fast and accurate AF, making it an excellent choice for sports and other fast-paced photography scenarios.
The EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Lens maintains the compact size, close focusing range, and accessory compatibility of the USM lens, making it a versatile and practical addition to any photographer's gear. With a telephoto range of 75-300mm, it offers advanced amateurs a flexible entry into telephoto photography, capable of capturing distant subjects with remarkable clarity.
Compatible with a wide array of Canon DSLR cameras, this lens offers the flexibility and convenience to work with various models, from the Canon 1D X Mark II to the Canon 5D Mark IV, and many more. The high maximum aperture of f/4-5.6 allows for impressive low-light performance and the ability to create a shallow depth of field, making it a reliable choice for photographers aiming to shoot in diverse lighting conditions or create stunning portraits with blurred backgrounds.
This bundle also includes a ProOptic 58mm MC UV Filter, Lens Cap Tether, and a Professional Lens Cleaning Kit, providing you with essential accessories to maintain the lens and enhance your photography experience.
