Connectivity and Camera Control
The EOS C300 Mark II Digital Cinema Camera integrates a re-designed imaging system of advanced components. These include a newly developed 8.85 Megapixel Canon Super 35mm 16:9 CMOS image sensor that supports up to 4K (DCI) recording with a maximum resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels and a high-speed readout for reduced rolling-shutter distortion. Working in concert with its dual Canon DIGIC DV5 image processors, data from the 4K sensor delivers Over-Sampling HD Processing for reduced-moire 2K(DCI)/Full 1080-60p HD recording and Dual-Pixel CMOS Auto Focus with an expanded focusing area and Face Detection (in combination with Canon EF lenses).
The dual DIGIC DV5 image processors also help to reduce visual noise and enable high-sensitivity shooting at a maximum speed of ISO 102,400 (+54dB) for sharp, clear image capture using only ambient lighting. In addition to its sensor and processors, the EOS C300 Mark II camera also incorporates a trio of XF-AVC H.264 codecs that enable in-camera 4K (DCI) recording to dual CFast card slots and 2K/Full HD recording to an SD card slot. For external recording and monitoring, twin 3G-SDI outputs capable of 4K RAW output are included on the rear of the camera body Users can choose among multiple recording modes, resolutions and frame rates to meet their production needs.
Creative flexibility is also greatly enabled by the EOS C300 Mark II Digital Cinema Camera's compatibility with the full range of more than 100 Canon EF and EF-S photographic lenses (including specialty tilt-shift and fisheye models) and Canon CN-E Cinema prime and zoom lenses (including the "ENG-style" Canon CINE-SERVO zooms). New Dual-Pixel CMOS AF capabilities of the EOS C300 Mark II are enabled by the AF motors in Canon EF lenses. The improved EF lens communication capabilities of the EOS C300 Mark II camera allow for the display of CN-E Cinema lens T-values, lens metadata acquisition and chromatic aberration correction on the camera's LCD Monitor/EVF/Output display.
Operability improvements of the Canon EOS C300 Mark II Digital Cinema Camera that further facilitate operation and creative freedom include full manual control, an Ultra-High Resolution 1.77 Megapixel color OLED EVF with adjustable 60deg. tilting angle, a built in internal mono reference microphone, a removable hand grip, an improved camera handle extension with additional attachment points and a removable LCD Monitor and control panel with XLR inputs. The modular design of the EOS C300 Mark II camera also allows for many kinds of industry-standard accessories to be added or removed as needed.
Canon 8.85 Megapixel Super 35mm CMOS Sensor
The heart of any Canon camera is its superb image-sensor technology. The EOS C300 Mark II Digital Cinema Camera integrates an 8.85 Megapixel Super 35mm 16:9 CMOS sensor that supports 4K (DCI) recording with a maximum resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels. The camera fully utilizes the image data delivered by this 4K CMOS sensor to also enable Over Sampling HD Processing for 2K (DCI) and Full HD1080/60p recording. Each pixel in this CMOS imaging sensor also maintains a wide pixel pitch that maximizes the amount of light that falls on to each photo site, thus enhancing the EOS C300 Mark II's sensitivity while also minimizing noise and supporting ISO speeds of up to 102,400 for extreme low-light imaging. This sensor also reduces data-readout time to about half of what it was in the original EOS C300 Camera, which results in a significant reduction in rolling-shutter artifacts.
Gratical HD
The Gratical HD Micro OLED electronic viewfinder uses an extremely powerful FPGA dual core processor and the latest Micro-OLED displays to provide a hugely expanded contrast range. Their Micro-OLED display supports high pixel density with unparalleled resolution, true blacks, gamma and contrast range. The Gratical HD has 5.4 million pixels on a 0.61" diagonal screen no bigger than the size of your thumbnail. The Gratical HD includes two HDMI and two SDI ports with cross conversion from HDMI to SDI. Weather resistant covers prevent moisture or debris from getting in open ports. You'll be amazed with how sharp the image is. The internal field of view is just the right size so that the image is large, but not so that your eye has to roam to see the entire image at once. It features a built in -1 to +4 diopter range and Zacuto's latest anti-fog coating formula. An auto-closing eyecup door prevents sunburn display automatically without any action by the operator. Mount the Gratical HD to your Next Generation Recoil via the 1/4 20 rosette on the side with an Axis Mini. You can also mount the Gratical HD with the 1/4 20 screw hole in the bottom. Included is the LP-E6 style battery with charger and universal plug adapters.
Axis Mini
The Axis Mini is the most adjustable ENG style mount for rosette mounted EVFs, giving you full 360deg. motion with four adjustment points. Designed to attach to the top of your camera set up, it leaves plenty of room at the lens for focusing and will work with the widest of lenses. It can easily be adjusted with one hand while the rig is on your shoulder. The Axis Mini has extensive articulation for use with a variety of cameras, both shoulder mounted in a Next Generation Recoil or in tripod operating position. It is very small and quick to install and remove.
The Axis Mini attaches to your rig via a 15mm rod port at the top of a kit positioned perpendicular to your camera lens. Slide the Axis Mini into the 15mm rod port and clamp into place. The Axis Mini attaches to the Gratical HD via a secure 1/4" 20 rosette mount. EVF's with a 1/4" 20 screw mount require the Quad Rail for use with the Axis Mini.
They offer three 15mm rod port options (not included) to attach the Axis Mini:
Recoil Handle
C100 Axis Mount
Z-Rail Z-Lock
The Axis Mini has three red tension levers that are controlled independently with 360 degree motion. Release all three levers to completely reposition the mount or release just one to make single segment adjustments. You can dial in the exact amount of tension needed at each lever to adjust on the fly. Just grab and move.
C300 Mark II Helmet Kit
The Canon C300 Mark II Helmet Kit includes the C300 Mark II Helmet, a 3" Z-Rail and the Recoil Handle top grip. The C300 Mark II Helmet is a mini cage designed to mount directly to the top of the Canon C300 Mark II in place of the Canon's supplied top helmet and handle. It gives you multiple 1/4" 20 and 3/8" 16 mounting screw holes to which you can securely attach a variety of accessories. The Helmet attaches to the camera via 4 screws, one screw on top and three additional screws on the sides, mounting it firmly in place. Longer screws for attaching the helmet to the camera body are included. There are also spots on the helmet to accommodate the Canon microphone holder as well the ability to add a riser in the front to accept rods. The Recoil Handle attaches to the Helmet via the included 3" Z-Rail. The quick-release Recoil Handle includes two coldshoe mounts (one vertical & one horizontal), a 15mm quick-release rod port and two 3/8" 16 screw hole mounts (convert to 1/4" 20 with a brass collet). The two coldshoe mounts secure with a quick-release clamp onto the shoe of your accessory. Mount two coldshoe items at once with a half turn of a Zacuto lever. No unnecessary winding of the annoying plastic round tie-down wheel! The top handle itself is hand tooled fine three-quarter maple. Their helmet and recoil handle allow you to quickly remove the handle for storing in a case. It also allows for sliding the handle along the z-rail to achieve perfect balance.
