Love this camera. I've rented before buying it and I was already very satisfied. I would have appreciated a build in EVF, though. Shipping was fast and smooth.

Moving up from using my Canon R5 for A-cam interviews and having it overheat a few times on a job, this thing is exactly what I needed! Now no more sweating bullets wondering if my camera will power down before the interview is over. I love that you can record from two audio sources simultaneously.

Great image quality and slo-mo autofocus capabilities. I'm frustrated that FCPX still does not recognize the 240 Mbps Intra-frame footage from this camera which is what I use to shoot 60fps. This creates a big workflow challenge. Please Canon talk to Apple and get this fixed!!!

Great upgrade from our C100mkII. This is the Camera I have been waiting for. Has everything I need for run and gun shooting then some. The new RAW shooting is great. I really have no complaints.

I am using this camera for a while now, however it has some severe issues. 1. There is a heavy antialising and moire problem that make most of my recordings unusable!!! The effect is increased when Digital IS switched on. DIS makes every straight line jitter, no matter which lens or zoom range I am using. 2. The autofocus is really bad, probably worst than in my R7 camera, despite the Face Priority mode which would have been nice, but not working properly. 3. The battery is pretty mediocre, but costs a furtune! 4 The LCD panel is full of garbage, the hinge already came off from the body of the camera. Poor engineering. 5. It is prone to be get scratched due to the plastic of the body, especially the upper part. I can't beleive I paid for this camera almost the same amount as my little apartment did cost. Ugggghhhh.

I am using this gear for more than a year now, but I really want to get rid of it. It has a ridiculous amount of antialiasing and jittering, which makes all my recording totally unusable. You would be better of to pick up a Canon EOS R7, which handles the job much better. Look at the footage I recorded with the C70 and see the jittering effect around the letters in the footage here. [Andorama removed the clip.]

The c70 enabled me to step into a true professional video workflow. As a hybrid shooter (relying on the r5 w/external recorder for video, that still overheated on 1/2 day shoots it?s amazing to finally have a professional cinema body for video and not worry about overheating or bringing extra gear to record audio. Getting the c70 has enabled me to eliminate an external video recorder and the file sizes are much easier to edit and way smaller in size. Having an external audio recorder is no longer needed since the c70 has built in 4-channel recorder with amazing pre-amps. And the best for last, the dynamic range and image quality is the best I?ve ever edited with. Especially mind-blowing since the file size of xf-avc is a quarter the size of what the r5 recorded at. Will definitely buy another as my business grows.

The c70 is undoubtedly the best cinema camera that you can buy for the price. It comes with so many features packed in that would need to be added to most other cameras at a cost. Internal ND filters, a slew of audio inputs, and fully remappable keys, you can literally attach a lens and shoot right away. Coming from Nikon, Clog2 has been great to color grade with and the dual gain sensor makes low light footage have great shadow detail and highlights. I made a decision to cancel my Red Komodo order for this and I'm glad that I did.

Incredible camera, a bit worried about the screen but its perfect. Just wish auto focus worked better in low light but not a biggie. Perfect image and usability. Paired with the canon focal reducer its a beast.

Great camera overall, natively it is a super 35 mm without a 1.5 crop. Using the focal adapter you get the full frame equivalent. I also have no focal canon adapter and for using EF lenses. The auto focus seems more responsive with the non-focal adapter. I didn't get to try RF lenses yet.

The C70 is my very first cinema camera. For decades I have only been using camcorders; only one being a 1-inch type (actually approx 16mm. So this unit was a serious update. It's also my very first interchangable lens video equipment. I only have the RF 24-70 f/2.8L for now. It can be quite compact without the top handle; I'm connecting a small stereo mic to the hot shoe (connects via 3.5mm cable). Weight isn't too bad at around 5.5 to 6 lbs. Pros... Super 35 sensor with very high dynamic range. Really like how you can record two different codecs simultaneously. This really helped to save money on cards. I'm currently using a 256 GB V90 card in the main slot and 128 GB V90 card in the secondary slot. I then set it up to record XF-AVC 10-bit 4:2:2 All-I to the first card and the Long-GOP version to the secondary card. The quick menu system is very convenient; really easy to change commonly-used settings. Very intuative menu system as well. Incredible amount of customization available. I rented the 0.71x adapter and was able to use my EF 50mm f/1.2L. That was incredible. Having light-gathering capability of f/0.9, I could shoot very dark scenes with just ISO 400 (shutter at 1/48; 180-degree mode with true 24 fps). Cons... The only feature I kinda miss from camcorders is having a rocker-style zoom. I know it exists for cine-servo type lenses which are way beyond my budget. Still, this hasn't prevented me from capturing content at all; I just think about capturing content differently now. Which is probably a really good thing.

Great image quality and easy to use. Good upgrade for any DSLR/mirrorless shooters. Only concern is the subpar build quality and the autofocus is nothing in comparison to an R5. Still sufficient for professional work nonetheless

For a cinema camera...this is a remarkable entry point! I had the C100 Mk II and very much enjoyed the image quality the camera offered, but ended up selling the body because the size was just too big for the projects I worked on at the time. The C70 has resolved that issue for me. This camera is very adaptable, portable and the image quality is amazing. Very happy with this camera.

I have now used my C70 for a couple of weddings and I am very pleased with the investment. I am able to match footage with my Canon 5D Mk IV with C-Log upgrade and the pair make a great duo. I also have the EF .71x adapter which makes me EF L lenses even more powerful when paired with this camera. When using the adapter on the C70 and mounting my 24-70 2.8L lens I am able to pretty closely match the framing of the 16-35 f2.8L on my Mk IV when shooting in 4k giving me a lot of options editing on a 1080 timeline. For the price point I feel this camera delivers excellent value.

So far my favorite camera in 2021. I bought this guy a few weeks back and I love the image coming out of camera. Used it on many commercial projects along side my RED Dragon. Perfect travel doc camera as it fits anywhere my DSLR would. Love the built in ND filters, gives me so much more space not having to lug around heavy ND and big Mattebox. Balances great on my Ronin. Color grades well in Davinci! Overall very excited. Thanks again Adorama & Lewis for the wonderful customer support!

A great little camera. I've paired it with the Zacuto cage and Kameleon EVF and a side handle. Like many of us, I was going between this and the Komodo for single shooter work and determined this was just more versatile and customizable in the long run. Image is excellent. AF is excellent. Mini-XLRs are a slight pain but once I got the proper cables all was well.

Awesome experience from start to finish. Upgraded from the c100 and couldn't be happier! The only down side I could find was the material used on the top handle is a bit rough to the touch.

I didn’t realize how frustrated I would be without an EVF, I use one when going into the menu and making adjustments checking settings I bought a third party EVF arriving soon, a hassle because it’s another thing to attach and power

Discover the Canon EOS C70 Digital Cinema Camera, a compact powerhouse that brings professional cinema capabilities to your fingertips. This camera is equipped with a 4K Super 35mm DGO Sensor, delivering stunning images with 16+ stops of total dynamic range. The sensor ensures low noise levels and prioritizes saturation for bright areas, while reducing noise for darker areas, resulting in smooth blacks and bold colors.
The EOS C70 is not just about impressive image quality, it's also about convenience and value. It comes with built-in ND filters for various lighting conditions, mini XLRs for professional audio recording, and dual SD card slots for simultaneous recording in different formats. All these features can be accessed with one hand on the direct touch rotatable LCD screen, allowing for on-the-spot changes while holding the camera.
This compact camera also offers serious cinema capabilities. Choose between Canon Log 2 or Canon Log 3 Gamma to control your dynamic range, and capture frame rates up to 120 fps in 4K or up to 180 fps in 2K CROP mode - all with electronic image stabilization. The built-in timecode port allows for synchronizing multi-camera productions, and a free firmware upgrade adds Cinema RAW Light internal recording, Canon 709 Custom Picture Profile, XF-AVC Intra 4K 60p recording, and more.
Designed for portability, the EOS C70's unibody design features a built-in ergonomic grip for easy and comfortable handheld shooting. It's also engineered with a built-in RF mount, making it compatible with Canon's expanding line of high-performance RF Lenses. For increased flexibility, the EOS C70 is also compatible with Canon's line of award-winning EF lenses using the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x.
The EOS C70 features Canon's next generation Super 35mm Dual Gain Output (DGO) Sensor, capable of a total dynamic range in excess of 16 stops. It includes Canon's exclusive Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus technology, an imaging system that generates high dynamic range and maintains low noise levels by reading out each photodiode with two different gains.
The EOS C70 supports both Canon Log 2 and Canon Log 3 Gamma, providing users with higher dynamic range, more highlight and shadow retention, and more flexibility in color grading. It also features HLG and PQ compliance with ITU-BT.2100 in Custom Picture (CP) presets, allowing users to record HDR footage instantly without grading.
In addition to RF lenses, the EOS C70 offers tremendous flexibility by also being compatible with Canon's broad line of award-winning EF lenses thanks to the new EF - RF optical adapter, Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x. This adapter converts light transmission from full-frame to Super 35mm image format, extends the angle of view and optical sensitivity, while seamlessly integrating with the camera's optical corrections.
The EOS C70 is equipped with Direct Touch Control which allows easy access to commonly used menu settings on the fully-rotatable LCD screen.
