I purchased my lens and its coverage together (it was a mistake). The CarePk coverage began at the time of purchase, not when the product was delivered. In my situation, the lens took over a month to arrive, so I lost that time from my coverage. Fortunately, I haven't had any issues with my product yet and can't comment on the coverage service.

Here is a list of benefits that you receive with the purchase of a CarePAK PLUS Service plan: 1) Accidental damage protection 2) Normal wear, and tear extended coverage 3) Annual camera maintenance and sensor cleanings - One per year per term of plan 4) Free image recovery 5) $0 deductible - You pay nothing after the initial purchase of the plan 6) Free two-way shipping for repairs - 5 business day service 7) Service plan is transferable if you sell your equipment. 8) Service and Support directly from Canon, using genuine Canon products and parts 9) Complementary customer support for all covered products So you can see why you would always want to buy one if possible. They're not too expensive and I feel it's money well worth spending. There are some caveats you should note. You cannot buy a CarePAK PLUS service plan on any used Canon gear nor can you buy one for any gear, not purchased directly from the Canon store or from an authorized Canon dealer like ADORAMA. When I bought my R6 Mark II a few months ago from the Canon online store, I also added a four year plan for it. On its first birthday it will be going back to Canon for the included no-cost maintenance checkup and sensor cleaning. So when you buy Canon gear, don't forget to check out the CarePAK PLUS service plan for it. You'll sleep better at night, I know I do.

First time I've purchased the CarePAK, but it came in CLUTCH 3 weeks after I bought the camera. A friend was putting it on a tripod and dropped and and screwed up the USBC port. The process has been simple and I'm SO glad I got it! 100% recommend.

Had the camera for a month shooting high school soccer at night. The eye auto focus is incredible. The whole thing has been awesome until the sticky shutter started happening in the third week. Manual mode; mech shutter; 1/1000; f2.8; auto iso; servo; back button focus; auto focus mode 4; h+. Once I release the shutter button, the camera continues to take 5-7 more photos. Is this a lemon?? I'm sure it can get fixed, but just annoying. If still recommend the camera.

So far love my new canon! Upgraded from a canon 6d mark ii and the quality is already so much better! I love the different features like eye tracking which is pretty cool! It?s lightweight and the images are sharp even with an adapter! The dual slot was a must for shooting weddings so love that this has it! Def try this out if you?re wanting to get into the mirrorless world!
