I just bought this item and used it to trip a small portable studio flash kit that is over 30years old. Although I had a few misfires, I believe they were due to the age of my strobe equipment and the need to have it serviced or rebuilt. Ordering and Shipping from Adorama was easy and quick.

These compact triggers are really nice. I was going on vacation and wanted something small to fire a pair of hotshoe flashes. I saw these, read the reviews, and bought two sets (I have a spare transmitter if I need it). No disappointments! They fired every time and I didn't need to fiddle with cables or loose them (i.e. PW). My only complaint is the battery cover wants to pop off. No problem, gaffers tape solved that! For the price, you can't beat 'em.

Hi, I bought the cactus trigger v4 and it is great. I use it with, SB 16, SB26, ND 2 VIVITAR flashes. My cameras are Canon Rebel T3, and Nikon D80. On the settings I just push all buttons down. I do this on the transmitter and Reciever. Turn on camera and flash. turn on the receiver. Press the test button and BINGO flash works. Point my camera, focus, press the button and Bingo flash works.__Now I wish I had another transmitter so I don't have to switch from camera to camera.

Very nice trigger set. Haven't had any meaningful problems with the transmitter except one time when I accidentally left the antenna down. Had an issue where I had to return one of the receivers, but I'll detail that in a review of the reveiver. One detail- if you're setting yours off the default channel, remember that channel before trying to use other triggers. DIP switches are nice because they're harder to accidentally change, but you have to set them in the first place.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing the cactus V4. I did change the batteries as soon as I took it out of the box and it worked perfectly. Has not misfired once. For the price, I will be ordering more receivers!

I'm having the same problem as Ashenwake. Once attached to a camera it almost never works. Very disappointed.

For the price, these are hard to beat, and handle the voltage from my old vivitar 283 and 285 HV flashes. I wanted to experiment with off camera flash before investing to much. I'm very happy with these.

inexpensive, light weight, no setup required. on the other hand, it only fires about 90% of the time that I hit the shutter button. So I miss a few shots. Also, it just randomly fires the flash occasionally, which gets annoying. (sometimes every few minutes, but occasionally a few times per minute). I'm borderline on the "would recommend to a friend" question. If you have the money to spend, try to get something a little more reliable.

After using the Cactus V5 product and having issues with the product breaking and the switch coming off, I was reluctant to try this item. However, the dfesign is more simplistic and has no pieces to pop off. I have started using this system as my "go-to" trigger system.

I really like this, it's easy to set up and use. It fits easily into my full camera bag. The one problem I have is reliability. It doesn't always fire on the first try. I've missed several shots because of it. So now I try to snap a shot just before I'm ready, so I know that it has woken up.

These wireless triggers do exactly what they say they will do. They come out of the box working, no fusing with settings. You just turn them on and go. The battery cover does seem to be a little loose but it hasn't fallen off yet!

The Cactus Wireless Flash Trigger Set V4 is a significant upgrade from all current and previous Cactus wireless flash trigger versions. The new version gives photographers even greater creative control over lighting in their images.
With the new Cactus Wireless Flash Trigger System V4, you can place multiple flashes at various angles and distances from your subject. This is particularly useful for portrait and product photography. Each receiver works with one flash. You can use as many receivers as you wish, all receiving their signal from one transmitter. Simply attach the hot shoe of the external flash to that of the receiver, or use the flash connection cable. Most importantly, without the need to connect the flash to your camera by hot shoe or cable, you can move the flash to anywhere that produces the best lighting on your subject. With the flexibility the new Cactus V4 triggers provide, the possibilities are endless.
The innovative standing design allows all the common portable flash units to sit securely on it without a separate light stand. When shutter is released, the receiver picks up on the signal emitted from the transmitter on your camera and will trigger the external flash connected to it. The fastest response time is 1/1000s (actual sync speed varies from 1/125s to 1/600s depending on the sync speed limit of the camera system). The Cactus V4 offers many improved features over the V2 version. These improvements include a new antenna design that increases the reliability and effective distance to 30 m (about 100 ft) and a new power source: AAA batteries. The 16 selectable channels and advanced anti-interference feature will allow the device to work within the effective area without interference from other devices. This new Cactus version offers a high degree of compatibility. With the provided connection cables, photographers can use the receiver with a range of lighting sources including low trigger voltage portable flashes, high trigger voltage portable flashes and studio strobes.
