Excellent SLR For $

Totally awesome starter camera! I did not go for this camera+lens package in favor of the higher quality and faster 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM lens. The USM focus is totally worth the extra $ and takes full advantage of eye control, which is much more useful then skeptics would think. My favorite thing about this camera is how solid it feels. Some would say that it's too big and heavy, but in the age of cheap plastic digital cameras, this camera stands out. Not only that, but the built in flash is very accurate and looks good, too. When im tooling around town with it, I get asked if I work for the paper! Put in your order soon, because, unfortunatly, this camera is being discontinued. Don't spend big money on a digital job that will be obsolete out of the box! Go ahead, buy it, you wont regret the decision.

Smashing

I'm planning on going into biolagy, and having a good slr too take photos of the animals is an essentail. Heres what i love about this camera: 1)predictive autofocus great for action shots, if you wanna take a picture of sports, or a tiger jumpuing through water and have a dead on picture, this delivers. 2)Eye controll, yes it realy works, even if you have galsses, once again the predictive auto focus is great. 3)So many modes, i realy can't even use them all. If you want a camera with so much stuff on it youll lose your mind, this is it. 4)lots of metering modes. The only complaint i have is that 7 focus points is good, but the eos 1v has 45 ans eye control, and there is now way in hell this thing can fire 4 fps. i deffinatly recomend eos 1v if you have $[...] to blow, (considering the cost of a decent lens). but if thats not in your budegt and certainly wasn't in mine, then buy this camera. youll love it. oh and get a better lens. the lens it comes with leaves alot to be desired.
