I have searched the web high and low for an eyepiece extender for my D750 but Nikon simply does not make one functionally equivalent to this Canon EP-EX15 II. There are a lot of extender eyepieces made for Nikon which are useless because they only make the problem worse for eyeglass wearers: by magnifying, you see even less of the full screen not to mention also the illuminated settings. . . . and if you remove the eyepiece lenses, then you are simply peering down a long tube and still cannot see the entire viewframe. The only way to get your nose off the LCD display, with or without eyeglasses, is to use a REDUCING eyepiece. This does exactly that, so you can see the entire frame, along with the illuminated data. My solution: trim the Nikon DK-21 eyepiece rubber flush & glue it to the Canon EP Ex15ii, serving as an "adapter". I sanded the two mating surfaces dead flat with 120 grit sandpaper on a flat granite countertop, then using cyanoacrylate ("crazy glue"), I joined the two, making sure that the viewports lined up and that everything is square, not rotated. This is a one-way trip, as the pieces can never be separated and you will no longer have access to the screws on the back of the Canon extended. So I double-checked them for tightness. Since I don't have a Canon DSLR, I also had to purchase an EB type eyecup to fit the extender. Now I can see everything and no more smashed schnozz. My only complaint is the view has significant barrel distortion, which other Canon reviewers have also noted. It's a shame Canon didn't design the optics properly, given their expertise. No big deal for me, because this Canon-Nikon-Frankenstein pops off easily if I need to. So this item gets a 3 star rating due to the distortion, but this item is definitely the only solution for those seeking a "true" extender.

Fits my 80D perfectly. I took the lenses out so the viewfinder will not be smaller.

When I was shopping for eyepiece extenders for my Canon 40D, it said that the Canon EP EX-15 II was the correct one for the Camera. Actually, that is not accurate; because what I discovered the hard way was that, the EP EX-15 II was smaller in physical size. It fits on to the Eyepiece of the Camera, but it is much smaller than the original Canon 40D Eyecup. If you have a large size Camera body, the Canon EP EX-15 (without the II) will probably suit you best. Oddly enough, Canon USA wasn’t aware of this either, and told me that the EP EX-15 won’t fit on my Canon 40D, but actually it does… beautifully! Therefore, to sum up, the Canon EP EX-15 II is smaller in physical size to the Canon EP EX-15.

Quick, easy, problem solved for people with above average noses. No more smudges on the monitor. Using it on my EOS 5D and my new 80D. All cameras should come with this.

I bought the extenders for both my camera bodies: Canon 5D MKII and 7D. Without the extender my nose tip touched the live view screen. Found this uncomfortable and also the skin left marks on the screen. The extender eliminated both these problems.

The biggest reason I got this was because I like to use the eyepiece when taking photos but would leave a face smudge on the LCD screen each time. This product has helped a great deal and I definitely recommend it to anyone who has the same problem.

I always keep one on my camera and several in my camera bag as they do fall off unnoticed very easily. Might add a drop of super glue in its track to alleviate this issue. Since super glue has only good adhesiveness in a pulling motion but can be fairly easily broken in a sliding motion, you can remove it, but would not recommend doing this. Instead your best bet is to buy extra standard view finder pads and glue the extender on to it. Now you can remove it quite easily and just put one of the extra standard pads back on the on the camera.

I have to wear glasses and with the viewer on the back of the camera my nose was rubbing and getting marks on my screen. This is worth owning.

Just what I needed. The only issue I have is that when I put my camera into my Tamrac Backpack the extender gets caught on the backpack and pops off. Which is not a problem if I just take my time putting the camera away.

Answer to the question if the Canon EP-EX II will fit the Canon, the answer is yes. As to which camera they fit, you can find the entire listing on the mfg. The extender is a very handy and comfortable accessory, and makes looking through the view finder much easier. The only issue that u I have is that I need to buy these in bulk as they are easily pulled off of the the mount.

I have read about these extenders but have never tried one before. They work great. Does not feel like a hindrance at all. Soft, and comfortable to the touch.

Extender makes wearing glasses much more comfortable. I tried it on my 50D at a store first. Canon quality, solid feel, well made, tight fit! Hasn't been off till tonight so I could write a more objective timely review. Actually, I got my best view with everything off. The original rubber eye piece clashed with my glasses on and Pwas the most uncomfortable and technically non-functional viewing.

It's a good product for keeping my nose off of the display screen on the camera, but the fact that it has a negative magnification factor means that every aspect of usihg the viewfinder is more difficult. I would not recommend this extender to anyone.

The nose smudges on the LCD were driving me crazy. This eyepiece really cuts down on the problem. I did have a couple of instances where the eyepiece fell off but I think there is a positive "click" when it fastens into place. I don't know why Canon does not build in the extension to it's design.

Well, this extender will reduce the area of view by 30%. That means the objects you normally would see in the viewfinder without using this eye-piece extender would appear far away. The only convenience of the eye-piece extender is that your nose will not rub against the LCD screen but again you will have to sacrifice on the decrease in the area of view. Instead, I would recommend to attach the camera to a tripod, use the Live view (LCD) and buy a remote control shutter release to get very sharp pictures.

I shot with it all day at one of my events. Eyepiece did help keep my nose off of view screen. Fit my camera well. However, it is a bit uncomfortable if you wear glasses.

These should be a default with every camera. If you don't have one--get one. Just be sure that you get the right one--my first purchase was EP-EX15 (NO II) and it won't fit the Rebel XSI. I'm using the first one on my 50D, but it tends to fall off easily--so I will be buying another EP-EX15 II for it.

A very useful addition to the XSi
By KenHecker
This eyepiece extender is a great idea that should have been either a part of the camera design, or a standard accessory. When using the EOS Rebel XSi, you really need to use the SLR eyepiece viewfinder to compose and just plain aim the camera. Despite having a large LCD screen, the camera isn't really set up, as a lower cost digital camera would be, to us the LCD for composition. When you use the optical viewfinder, you end up pressing your nose against the LCD screen. Noses are notoriou...
