If your 5Ds remote switch connector takes a 3-pin plug configured like the ET-1000N#s plug, then it will work, otherwise Canon makes another remote switch w/ a different kind of plug/connector that would likely work.JAMES W : Don't know. I use it with a 50D and a 5D mark II. I would assume it does but I'm not sure. You can always call Canon to find out .HAROLD M : Bill, I do not use the 1000N3 ext cord. Good add on to the basic release.

Nice positive snap fit, both the camera and release end. Solid product. Hard to beat the brand name, except for the cost (sometimes).

I can move around and still take a picture. but use it most at night time with no flash. I don't want the camera to move, so I stay away from it. I get clearer picutes and can move around.
