I never give a 5 star to anyone. Now that I got that out of the way, the lens hood fits well, and does what it is intended to. And it is a genuine Canon product, which looks great on my Canon 75-300mm. Previously I was using an aftermarket tulip shaped hood that threaded into the filter threads of the lens. This product is much better in design.

There were too many lenses in the list of compatible lens that this lens hood fit. Apparently this particular lens hood DID not fit my particular Canon EF lens. I had to get a non-Canon lens hood; the correct Canon product was no longer available from Canon.

I have learned from experience just how important a lens hood is .Sometimes you get a shot and without a lens hood ,you have to fight sun glare . I am helping my niece to get a starter camera with a couple lens's . She really has and artistic eye and a real interest in Photography . She is getting ready to take a Photography Course. I want her to have all the basics she will need .

I always use a lens hood with my lens. I have no complaints. I just wish Canon would include them with the non-L lens also.

Lens hoods are a must especially when shooting in the direction of the sun to eliminate reflection. Not all camera shots are made with the sun at your back. Great for sunset shots.

Some aftermarket parts works. Others do not. Lens hoods are the one item I buy factory made. When I wanted to purchase hoods for all my lenses, I bought one aftermarket hood to see how it would perform. I mean, a hood is a hood, right? Uh no. The aftermarket hood I purchased came in this weird two-piece design, the front edge of the hood appeared in some of the photographs, it was designed to be screwed on to the lens/filter threads instead of the hood threads which Canon designs into their lenses, and it couldn't be reversed for proper storage on the lens. Stick with Canon hoods. They are more expensive but worth the money. This is one thing you don't want to cheap-out on.

i used this lens hood the first day i recieved it, because i needed one for my new lens and glad i did, i was walking through thick brush so the hood did its job, didnt crack or break or come off the lens. protected my lens very well.

I bought a few cheap Screw on hoods prior to this and was extremely disappointed in their quality. In this case it pays to go with the name brand.

I have used a number of screw on hoods with this lens, however i like the ease in which i can take this one on and off quickly. Makes it very easy to change filters of the fly.

Fits perfect as it should since it's a Canon product. A bit pricey compared to the Adorama branded hoods. It is a bit nicer in construction and fit and finish overall. Works well and does what it's supposed to do. Hard to go wrong with it.

This is an ok item. I have large fingers, and striggle with removing the lense cap. Overall, ok for the price.

For me, the most common use is for landscape/scenery specially when I want only a certain amount of light. One of the strongest things about it is the quick interchangeability. No comments on non great things so far.

I have some of the cheaper lens hoods that I purchased because Canon's models were not available. Long after I have forgotten the cost of the Canon lens hood, I curse the poor fit and construction of the knock-offs.
