As one would expect, this lens shade fits perfectly on my Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens. Also as expected, Adorama had the best price, too! Highly recommend both the lens shade and Adoroma!

Although the Canon Lens Hood ET-65 III is light weight and flexible, it does the job excellently. And the lens hood can be mounted in any position. Be careful to squeeze the tabs only enough to retract the retaining fingers.

I wish there was a tulip lens hood for my EF 100mm f/2 USM macro but there isn't. This is Canon quality and fit so I am pleased.

While the hood does what a hood should do, the connection systems is a bit tricky to click properly into place. Not a bonus when you are rushed to swap lenses.

It is a lens hood. Does the job but it will not lock on in the reverse position. That is why I deducted a star.

The Canon 85 f1.8 lens and hood are in excellent condition. I did some portraits with the lens and it performed outstanding. For the price it can't be beat. I have the the 70 -200L 2.8 is, and I was able to compare some of the head shots taken from both lens and both are great performer. The 85 will be in my camera bag always because of it size, and that is the advantage that it gives.

Old lens hood got lost, replaced it simple as that. Its handy for standing lens up on a table... or blocking stray light whatever you prefer.

Really nice little hood; overall, I'm extremely happy with it. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is that it is a little looser on my 85mm than most of my other hoods fit on their lenses. Doesn't affect anything except my OCD, but a more perfect fit would be nice. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would.

I cannot count the number of times that lens hoods have saved my lens or camera from destruction. Using a tripod on less than stable ground, I have had a camera take a face dive into some rocks. The lens and camera were fine, and the hood got a small scratch in it. I regularly carry my camera on a sling style strap and feel much safer in the knowledge that the front element is protected from bumps. When shooting macro and trying to get really close, the hood also helps me to not get the lens smashed up into or smudged by my subject. Also, when working around children, a lens hood helps keep those curious fingers off the front element. I consistently purchase hoods for any lenses I purchase that do not already come with a hood included. Honestly, the only time I could see not using a lens hood would be in a studio setting where the environment was controlable.

The clip on Lens Hoods of this series of lenses is new to me and I am used to the bayonet lens hoods of more upscale lenses in the Canon line. This lens hood will do one of its jobs well - keeping stray light from hitting the lens objective. However, the build is flimsy and will not protect the front of the lens from mishaps (bumping into the wall or accidental contact with the floor as well as its better made siblings. The clip on feature of these is also not as reliable as the bayonet feature of the more upscale hoods. It feels like it would be easy to knock off, and it is fiddly to put on, take off and reverse. I would recommend it to others because of its functions and because I believe this is the only option for the purpose.
