I wanted this lens hood for an old Canon lens and found that my usual photo equipment supplier would have had to special order it. I checked Adorama and they had it in stock. It make the lens hood more pricey than reasonable (they are already expensive for a small piece of plastic), but the quality is good.

Fits Perfectly

With the help of Adorama staff, I was able to return a generic version of this one and got the real hood. It snaps to the lens smoothly, securely as it shoult. I would not waste money on the clone, get the Canon brand hood.

Great Hood

Works as it should. I have bought several of these generic lens hoods because they are cheap. Compared to the Canon brand hoods, these are cheap plastic and are unlikely to protect your lens much in a fall. They are sometimes too tight or too loose. If they are too tight, remember to turn your autofocus to manual before you twist them on and off or you could screw up the autofocus motor (except for full-time manual lenses). They do not have the black fuzzy surface inside

Hood is very good alone...but if you want to use a rotating filter it is hard to get you fingers inside the hood to turn to polarizer. I have also ordered a cheap hood to use that screws into the polarizer filter so I can turn all at once.

EW-63 II

This should be used at all times. Not only does it limit flare, but gives a little extra protection to the lens.

A "Must" Item

In general I like this lens hood.  My only challenge is the lens flare I get when shooting about 10 to 15 degress off angle from the sun.  I don't know if this is more a problem with my 28 to 105 mm lens or the hood not screening the lens.  I just have to be careful to move further off the sun even when I can't see a problem in view finder.
