Shopper : does this fit other canon lenses? I know it wouldn't work with something like that 17-40 mm L series, but what about the 24-70 mm?GREGORY D : It will work with the 24-70 f/4, but not the 24-70 f/2.8. It actually will work with the 17-40 if you're shooting it on a crop-frame camera (and probably even on full-frame if you file down the side petals a bit).IVAN B : Not that I am aware of, and it definitely will not fit the older 24-70mm mk1 lens because it is a unique design. Canon design's their lens shades to work best for the specific lens.. I recommend buying the one designed for your exact lens, so there is no mistake.

If it's one of the generics, it could be loose or tight. If you shoot out side you need this

I didn't think using a hood was all that great but just haveing it for that one time you need it is so worth it. This hood fit tight and reveres to stay out of the way tell you need it. One thing I used this hood for was keeping small rain drops off my lens in bad weather.Yes I would buy it agine

It is OEM - not much else to say.

It is Canon quality. It will break if you drop your 5D Mkii off of a table and it lands on the hood.

Nothing like the real thing

I lost the hood for my 24-105mm (or I thought I had anyway) so I ordered a new one from [...] - as they had the best price for the Canon version. It just feels wrong to walk around without my lens hood on!
