Excellent video camera for money

I use the Canon Vixia FS300 for simple documentaries and for nature photography. I have learned to get around the internal automatic focus noise by using an external condenser mic or by going to the manual focus mode. Otherwise, all relatively quiet scenes will have the annoying sound of the automatic focus mechanism running, which is picked up by the internal mic. The other problem with the FS300, from my perspective, is the relatively short battery life of a bit less than one hour. I intend to acquire a second battery and keep it fully charged and with me when using the camera. The Vixia is excellent in low light situations, produces sharp stills and detailed videos, is simple to use, and is well worth the price I paid Adorama for it.
