About Canon LV-X420

The LV-X420 is a compact and portable DLP projector offering native XGA resolution, a high 4200 lumen brightness and 10,000:1 contrast ratio for clear, sharp images in a variety of spaces such as classrooms and office environments. The lightweight design and convenient integration of Mobile High Definition Link (MHL) for ease of use with smartphones and tablets make it a practical choice for K-12 schools, higher education, corporate and small businesses. Plus, with no need for air filters, the LV-X420 reduces maintenance requirements, which minimizes downtime.

High Image Quality
Native XGA resolution (1024 x 768) produces a 4:3 aspect ratio picture for a 260-inch display area - larger than standard SVGA resolution, with a higher pixel density for a sharper, clearer picture. The projector's single-chip Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology achieves a high brightness of 4200 lumens and contrast ratio of 10,000:1 so clarity, detail and color are strong, whether projecting graphics, pictures, text or video - even in challenging lighting conditions.

Compact and Lightweight
At just 7.5 pounds, the LV-X420 is light and compact in design so it can be easily moved from one room to the next. A built-in 10W speaker removes the need to bring separate sound equipment.

Versatile Connectivity
The LV-X420 features two HDMI ports, enabling transmission of video and audio. MHL is supported for convenient, immediate projection from handheld devices like smartphones and tablets, providing opportunities for added collaboration, interaction and sharing during presentations. Comprehensive connections also cover inputs for RS-232 and RJ-45 control, a USB type A port for power supply and USB Mini B for service, as well as standard RCA video and audio input and output. For additional network management control and integration into existing systems, the LV-X420 is also compatible with PJLink and Crestron RoomView, allowing monitoring of lamp hours and usage to reduce maintenance and downtime. It also supports e-Control for remote connection via internet browser using the projector's IP address to power on or off, adjust settings and much more.

Peace of Mind
The LV-X420 is backed by Canon's Lamp Based Projector Warranty and Lamp Limited Warranty. The projector is guaranteed to be free from defects for 3 years and the Lamp for 120 days. In addition, Canon USA's Advanced Warranty Exchange Service Program provides you with enhanced warranty service in addition to traditional "mail-in" repair service.

Up to 4200 Lumens and 10,000:1 Contrast Ratio Delivers Bright, Engaging Images
This projector projects bright 4200 lumen images with up to a 10,000:1 contrast ratio that helps ensure deep blacks, bright whites and outstanding color. The results are images with crisp depth and dimension and great color accuracy, which is critical to those with discerning needs.

Native XGA Resolution (1024 x 768)
Canon's XGA resolution brings bright, true widescreen display of intricately detailed video content and still images with outstanding color richness to midsize room installations in XGA (1024 x 768) at a competitive price. Content is projected without compression. Graphics, text and other visual content from laptops and desktop computers are shown in accurate proportions, just as it appears on most monitor screens. XGA resolution is used in a variety of applications and capable of projecting data produced by many devices.

DLP Technology
This projector utilizes Single-chip Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology which is a widely utilized projection technology that creates natural and lifelike images. The DLP technology utilizes a 6-segment color wheel along with a reflective Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) to produce video and images with high brightness. The resulting video and images maintain the details inherent in what you are showing.

Flexible Image Quality Adjustments
To achieve the best possible picture for your setting and presentation content, this projector features flexible image adjustment options. These include Multiple Image Modes and a Screen Color Correction function.

Multiple Image Modes
Image Modes provide different variations of color reproduction characteristics suitable for the image type and projection environment. They include:

Presentation
Ideal for somewhat bright rooms when text needs to be clear, such as when part of a video presentation.

Standard
Ideal for bright rooms and when using content from computer screens or motion picture content.

sRGB
Complies with the sRGB standards and is intended to optimize the projection of photographs from sRGB compatible digital cameras.

Movie/Cinema
Intended for richly colorful videos or images.

User1/User2
Two user-defined modes that make it simple for users to customize and store up to two unique image modes. This allows multiple presenters to share the projector while keeping the image settings optimized for diverse subject matters or sources. In this mode, you may also make advanced color adjustments through the management of the six colors (R/G/B/C/M/Y) on the color wheel.

Screen Color Correction Mode
When projecting to a non-white, colored surface, colors of the projected image may appear different from the original image. The Screen Color feature helps to correctly match the colors of projected images to the color of many projected surfaces.

Versatile Connectivity - HDMI, MHL, USB Type A, USB Mini B, RJ-45, RS-232, RCA and Audio Input/Output
Connections include: HDMI and an HDMI/MHL connection that simplifies connecting portable devices for video playback.

Industry-standard control and networking inputs include a USB mini B port for service, a network-ready RJ-45 port that enables authorized users to manage and control multiple projectors from any PC on a network (Gigabit data transfer speeds are supported), an RS-232 serial connection for monitoring the projector locally through a third-party control system, a USB Type A port to be used as a power supply terminal and a mini-jack that provides a trigger for screen operation.

Network Management including PJLink, Crestron Connectivity and e-Control supported
Compatibility with Crestron helps ensure seamless integration into many systems or infrastructures and smooth network management. Support for PJLink also makes it possible to control and monitor the projector over a network - this feature is ideal for observing lamp hours, usage and much more. This projector is also equipped with e-Control, which allows the user to connect with the projector when using HTML via an internet browser. By typing the IP address of the projector into browser, users can connect and access information such as On/Off functions, Source settings, Blank, Inputs and more.

Compact Size and Flexible Placement Options
This projector offers a compact, lightweight and portable design ideal for shared use in different corporate or education locations. It weighs approximately 7.5 pounds and measures 12.3" x 4.4" x 9.0", making it relatively easy to move from room to room. It can be conveniently placed on a desk or table, as well as mounted on a wall or ceiling.

Low Power Consumption and Simplified Maintenance
This projector offers multiple power-management settings that allow the user to preset stand-by durations, execute power operations and auto-assign functions to the power button. The design of this projector also allows for simplified maintenance with a filter-free design. The projection lamp can also be replaced while the projector remains ceiling mounted without having to uninstall.

3D Ready
This model is capable of projecting 3D content via the DLP-Link System. Utilizing a 3D player along with DLP Link 3D glasses for your audience, this projector will display bright 3D images.

10W Built-in Speaker
A 10W built-in speaker makes it easy to add sound to presentations and displays in a range of smaller environments without the need to add additional speakers and sound equipment, or connect to an already-present sound system.
