Made of 100% cotton, it offers an ultra-smooth surface finish and a soft and supple feel to the touch. ARCHES 88 has a pure white tone and is completely free of any optical brighteners (OBAs).

This unique printmaking paper base is manufactured on a traditional cylinder mold press at the ARCHES paper mill, one of the oldest papermakers in France. As a result of using 100% cotton and the time-honored manufacturing process, the paper has a very soft and supple feel. The paper has a White and Pure White tone and is completely free of any optical brighteners (OBAs).

ARCHES master papermakers have been producing very high-quality fine art papers since 1492, and today ARCHES is the only paper mill in France using a traditional cylinder mold process for all its papers, including ARCHES Aquarelle Rag. Using the traditional watercolor base, the paper has an even natural grain and a felt-marked finish. ARCHES Aquarelle Rag is manufactured using 100% cotton which contributes to the paper's natural beauty and feel. The pure white base does not contain any optical brightening agents (OBAs).
