This is the best multi-use lens I have ever purchased. As long as it is in my bag, I know I can adapt to practically any photography situation and that my pictures will shine. Autofocus is sharp and fast, and the lens stabilization is fantastic. The lens adds a bit of front-end weight and feels a bit larger than expected, but when paired with a mirrorless camera it is negligible. The control rings are tight when you first open the box, but loosen up nicely until they are smooth but not too loose. They provide amazing control over focus and length, with a third ring that can be programmed to control just about any part of the camera (I have mind set to adjust the aperture). The lens is very good all the way stopped down to 2.8, but becomes incredibly sharp at 4.0-5.6. ISO and noise is handled well at even extreme settings of 8,000+ (and can easily be cleaned up with modern photo editing denoising). There is slight vignetting wide open and pulled all the way out, but that is also easily corrected with software. The large glass surface means filters run a premium with this lens, but it is an investment that will be well worth it. I expect to be pulling this lens out of my bag for the next 10 years.

This has to be every photographer's go-to. It's handy in many scenarios; I love it personally when trying to travel with a light kit.

I recently purchased this lens that was backordered, and I was disappointed to learn that my CarePAK coverage began on the date of purchase (Nov. 6th), rather than the date the product was delivered (Nov.24th). This means I'm paying for protection during a period when the product was not in my possession and could not be used. This policy creates several concerns: 1. It Punishes Early Buyers and Loyal Customers Customers who preorder, backorder, or commit early often wait the longest and invest the most...yet they lose the most coverage time. In many cases, early buyers are Canon's most loyal customers, but this policy unintentionally disadvantages them. 2. Delivery Date Reflects True Ownership and Risk Coverage should begin when the customer actually receives the product and assumes responsibility for it. Before delivery, the buyer has no control, no access, and no ability to use the item. Starting coverage at purchase rather than delivery doesn't align with real ownership or practical risk, especially for a backordered item. 3. It Creates Unequal Value Across Customers Two customers can pay the same price for the same CarePAK plan, but if one receives their product immediately and another waits weeks or months because they chose to buy something on Backorder or Preorder, they're getting very different value. Same cost, different benefit. That feels inequitable and inconsistent. I appreciate Canon's products and brand, which is why I chose to purchase in the first place. But this policy erodes trust and makes preorder/backorder purchases feel so unfair. I hope Canon will consider adjusting CarePAK coverage to begin on the delivery date, so customers receive the full protection they're paying for.

Have had this lens for about 9 months. Ideal focal length for variety of shooting scenarios, fast 2.8 constant aperture, and very good image quality make this an awesome lens for just about any type of photography. Astro, landscape, portrait or whatever, it does not disappoint. The only downside of this lens is how heavy it is but that is only a testament to the build quality.

I just upgraded from a Canon RF24 mm-105 mm STM lens. The difference is night and day. I can't believe the difference in the two lenses. I have taken some sample pictures with it and the clarity is amazing.

I recently purchase a Canon R5 MkII body with a EF adapter. I have a large quiver of EF lenses, including a EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II that has been used hard and put away wet. It worked fine on the R5, but I was tempted with the claimed 5 stops of image stabilization on the RF24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM. I am very happy with this new version, my most useful lens.

When I bought the lens, they offered me a price, and the invoice was higher. Also, when the lens arrived, it looked like it was in an open box. This lens looked like it had already been used. The box was torn and in poor condition. Cano lenses come with some information written on paper. This one arrived without that information, so they're selling me a lens at a different price than what they offered me, and the lens is in an open box. When you talk to them, everything is very polite at first. In the end, they'll give you anything you want.

Canon 24mm-70mm is the best lens for professional photography and videography. I got this gear with flash bundle at same price that other stores sells. Adorama is the best place to buy and they are good at customer satisfaction as I got price matched as well.

I'm a photographer and bought an RF 24-70mm that after less than 1 year had insects inside. Although the lens is supposed to be sealed and within warranty, it is sent to be repaired, which gives me a negative response and offers me an assumption for its cleanliness. It seems ridiculous to me to pay more than 2 thousand euros for an objective supposedly sealed against the weather and after 1 year there are animals inside the objective, and I am not covered by the Canon guarantee. I leave you the video attached so that you are ashamed of the material you sell. At least Canon could have the humility of recognizing that the lenses are not sealed and therefore not worth what you pay for them, cleaning these problems at no cost was the least they had to do, for years using UNSEALED lenses from low-end brands . and I've never had a problem, now I'm inverting it on a premium lens like this one which isn't worth the inversion. I really regret buying this lens.

I purchased this lens last week and spent the weekend recreating photos I shot over the last year using the RF 50mm 1.8 STM and the RF 24-105 kit lens that came with my R6 Mark II. This is my first L lens, but there is no comparison. The sharpness and color is amazing - I am just an amateur, but the gear really can help!!

Very sharp

There is a reason why this glass is so expensive. This lens is so stinking sharp that my pictures look so good. Invest in good glass and you won?t regret it
Nearly perfect, only one small quibble
By Daniel
This is the essential and fantastic standard zoom lens. Super sharp, fast and great rendering. My only quibble is the AF/MF and stabilization switches are very easy to move. They don't have the same firmness as my other RF lenses, and I have found my lens inadvertently switched to no stabilization or manual focus with just light use.
Just imagine the creative potential at your fingertips with the RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM lens, a quintessential tool for the discerning photographer using the EOS R full-frame mirrorless camera system. This high-quality, durable lens is part of Canon's esteemed L-series, renowned for its advanced optics and robust build. The lens's bright f/2.8 maximum aperture is constant across the entire zoom range, offering consistent exposure settings and depth-of-field control, which is essential for both still photography and videography.
The RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM lens is the epitome of versatility, adeptly handling a wide array of photographic genres. Its broad focal length range, from a wide 24mm to a medium telephoto 70mm, ensures that you can frame your subjects perfectly without the need to change lenses.
Photographers and videographers will appreciate the lens's close focusing capabilities, which allow for a minimum focusing distance of just 0.69 ft./0.21m at the wide end and 1.25 ft./0.38m at the telephoto end, opening up a world of creative close-up opportunities. The inclusion of Canon's cutting-edge Nano USM technology provides swift, accurate, and whisper-quiet autofocus performance, which is particularly beneficial when recording video and aiming for that professional, cinematic quality. The reduced focus breathing ensures that focus transitions are smooth and unobtrusive, maintaining the viewer's immersion.
For content creators who work in dynamic and unpredictable environments, the RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM lens is equipped with up to 5 stops* of image stabilization, ensuring sharp, blur-free images even in challenging lighting conditions or when shooting handheld. This feature is invaluable for maintaining image quality in low-light scenarios or when capturing fast-moving subjects.
The lens's construction is thoughtfully designed to withstand the rigors of professional use. It boasts a weather-resistant build, complete with a fluorine coating, which repels dust, moisture, and oils, ensuring that the lens remains a reliable companion in even the harshest shooting conditions.
This bundle enhances the lens's capabilities even further, including an NXT Plus 82mm CPL filter to reduce glare and enhance color saturation, an 82mm UV lens filter for additional lens protection and clarity, a cleaning kit to keep your optics in pristine condition, and a microfiber cloth for gentle, effective maintenance.
