The only camera I need
As a former C200 owner, and a photographer moving from Nikon to Canon, I started with the R5. Now that I have the R5C and it's separate photo and video menus I have found the perfect fit for my workflow. As someone who goes back and forth between photography and cinematography work as much as I do this camera check all of the boxes for my work ? With the Canon EOS R5C, filmmakers, journalists, creators, and advanced amateurs can unlock their full creative potential with a cost-effective 8K, 4L, and FHD camera.
Focus & Speed.
Focus and speed are paramount in the EOS R5 C camera, providing impressive still-image continuous capture at speeds of up to 20 frames per second, and with Dual Pixel CMOS AF II capability, to track split second movements of even the most elusive subjects. With 1,053 Automatic AF zones, it is easy to photograph people with the use of Eye, Face and Head Detection AF, or intuitively track the whole body, face or eye of cats, dogs, or birds with Animal Detection AF. For those with the need for speed, Canon has also included still-image vehicle subject detection to assist with accurate tracking of cars and motorcycles. Familiar Body, Stunning 8K Raw Video.
Despite having a very similar body to the R5, the Canon R5C incorporates a new internal cooling fan that allows for unlimited 8K 60fps recording. It supports internal 8K/60P RAW or Cinema RAW Light recording, HDMI 8K RAW output to external recorders, and 8K HDR recording. The interface was expanded to meet the needs of professional filmmakers, including 13 assignable buttons. You can record 10-bit 4:2:2 video in a variety of formats. The 8K sensor with DIGIC X processor allows for up to 2K and 4K oversampling. Shoot up to 4K 120p in 4:2:2 10-bit while taking advantage of Canon Log 3 profile for endless creative possibilities in post-production.
Built In Cooling Fan.
The EOS R5 C camera features a cooling fan built into the body, forcing out the heat from inside. This enables continuous and virtually limitless shooting of high-definition 8K/60P video without interruption.
Expanded Interface, Built For Professionals.
The EOS R5 C camera provides a Timecode input/output terminal for easy synchronization when shooting with multiple cameras and other interfaces. A cable protector is also included as standard to prevent cable disconnection or damage to the terminal if strong force is applied when connecting interface or HDMI cables.

The EOS R5C camera is equipped with a 45-megapixel CMOS sensor and employs the DIGIC X Image Processor to enhance performance across the board. The result is fast, efficient performance and stunning image quality for large prints, 8K video, and more. As with the R5, it uses a powerful DIGIC X Image Processor to help improve the finer details in your image.

The EOS R5 C camera is designed with operational flexibility in mind, conforming to each individual professional workflow, including 13 marked, assignable buttons that allow for user-friendly customized operation.
Blazing Fast Write Speeds.
With 8K 60fps, there is an impressive amount of detail which clocks in around 2570 Mbps. With a CFexpress Type B card slot and SD Card Type UHS-II slot, you can capture an incredible amount of photos or video. Your recording format and the size of the card will determine how much footage you can record.
Supports 8K Recording.
The combination of ultra-high-definition 8K recording and HDR lets users shoot more realistic and lifelike video. The EOS R5 C camera supports HDR recording in Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) and Perceptual Quantization (PQ) formats. This helps ensure full color rendition and wide latitude with a great range from black to pure white – outstanding for the delivery of live streams, broadcasts and post-production projects.
Outstanding Focus Accuracy.
The EOS R5 C camera can record High Frame Rate (HFR) movies at up to 120P at 4K resolution (4096x2160/3840x2160) in 4:2:2 10-bit without cropping the sensor. Amazing for shooting scenes full of fast-paced action, the EOS R5 C camera’s fast and intuitive autofocus remains enabled even during HFR recording, making it ideal when shooting from a gimbal or drone, delivering outstanding focus accuracy at HFR or at common frame rates.
Mechanical & Electronic Shutter.
Wildlife photographers, set photographers, and journalists will especially love the EOS R5C camera's selectable electronic shutter mode which can shoot at up to 20 frames per second, and the mechanical shutter which allows for continuous shooting at up to 12 frames per second. With its fast AF/AE system and DIGIC X image processor, the EOS R5C offers fast and precise camera operation.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF.
Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology uses every pixel on the imaging sensor to detect focus, and also to capture actual image information achieving both high precision focusing and high image quality. With most Canon RF and EF lenses, AF for video can be carried out over approximately 80% of the vertical and horizontal area of the screen. Touch AF allows positioning an AF point by simply touching the LCD screen, in addition to quick manual positioning with the 8-way Multi-controller on the rear of the camera. In addition, the camera features Eye AF/Head Detection AF, developed with the use of deep learning technology to improve subject tracking. It also provides human detection (eyes/face/head), allowing it to track subjects accurately even when AF control is not available. Users can track focusing as desired depending on their subject or shooting situation. A wide variety of AF modes enable autofocus shooting that flexibly responds to the subject’s movement. Users can leave focusing to the camera and concentrate on their camera work.
ISO For Every Situation.
Canon's EOS R5C camera offers a high-standard ISO range of 100-51200 and expanded ISOs up to 102400 for still images, as well as some features to help with shooting in a variety of changing lighting conditions. It can shoot at expanded sensitivities down to ISO 50 (L) and up to ISO 102400 (H).
