Canon RF 600mm f/4 L IS USM Lens

A tremendously good lens. Coming from non-prime lenses, the difference is unparalleled. Faster focus, super clear photos and has the ability to accommodate the 1.4X and 2.0x extenders. It takes some time to get to know the lens, know how to carry the lens and how to find your subjects fast. The build quality is excellent and taking the big leap into a lens like this just sets your photography on another level. I am very happy with this purchase and in general the very professional way Adorama has treated this transaction.

Had it for about a month, I do like it, definitely a lens that needs a tripod to use. Pretty heavy given the size. Takes very nice photos and videos. I use it together with my 2x zoom piece which makes it a 1200mm F8 What I don't like about it is I've checked the prices for replacement parts, canon wants $1000 for the hood if you ever need to replace that for some reason. I think that is an insane amount of money to ask for a piece of plastic that you attach to protect the lens and block out sun glare.

Phenomenal lens. It is heavy, but I so far managed to use it without tripod. Excellent reach, gives blurry background, incredibly sharp, even with 1.4 extender. I was contemplating for a while, before pulled the trigger for spending $14000. Thanks to Adorama it is 12 months interest free. It made it palatable. I love it, and as I predicted, it will be useful in many situations I have been before and lacking that reach. Still learning to use it, takes some learning curve. But love it. Great product. Combining with R3 and hopefully R5 mark ii it will be amazing.

Although I have not used this particular lens at length yet, it compliments my Canon EF 400 f2.8 IS USM II very nicely. Weight difference is significant between the two allowing hand held shots to be easily captured.

I bought a "new" RF 600 mm from Canon's website. On my third use the lens broke - I could hear something rattling around inside and it wouldn't focus (I never dropped it, had hardly even used it). When I sent it in for repair they told me the warranty is void because it's already had a poorly-done repair on one of the inner pieces. Essentially then, I paid for a new lens, got a used one, and they're blaming me for this. I've had to get a lawyer and file a credit card dispute over the matter. And this after being a loyal customer for years (I have two R5s, 8 lenses, and numerous other accessories). Be careful buying from Canon...

I honestly struggled with what value my work would gain if I purchased this very expensive lens. See I have been using the RF 100-500 with a 1.4x extender if I needed extra range. The images with set-up are sharp but I would find myself pushing the ISO due to the aperture constraints. Do, I popped and I am glad I did. This lens focuses fast, is the sharpest lens I have ever used and the low aperture provides higher shutter speeds with lower ISO. I highly recommend this lens.

If you're serious about your work and want the very best glass available, the RF600 is for you. To take advantage of the reduced weight that comes with mirrorless gear, I added the RF600 to my kit to compliment my EF600, which has served me well for many years. Excellence in every way!

So much lighter than the EF IS II model and much quitter IS also. Imagine quality is top notch and what you would expect for a lens like this.

I love this lens!! It?s on par with the other big white lenses I?ve owned (400mm f/2.8 III and 500mm f/4 II. It is very sharp, and the weight is excellent. If you?re contemplating buying this lens, I highly recommend it.
