Ordinarily I'd give this remote switch five stars.  But, the one I just received was too loose when inserted into the camera socket.  It would easily become disconnected when the camera was moved and it would not fire.  I smeared a little bit of Shoe Goo on the remote to make it fit snugly in the socket.  It works great now.

works and fits like a charm.  There are less expensive options but had concerns about loose connections.  This Canon remote switch seems to fit perfectly.

Remote switch

Easy to connect and operate.  When taking close up photos or tripod shots, it makes it very easy to execute each shot without having to worry about my old fat fingers moving the camera.  Using the cameras timer function works as well, but with the hand held cable release, I control exactly when the shot is taken.

I was using a Pro Masters remote switch but it was inconsistent especially with back button focus.  Sometimes it work other times it did not. The Canon RS 80N3 has been reliable ad works very well.  I have not experienced any problems with it.  I would recommend it to other canon users

I like the release cable but after I used it awhile, mainly for slower shutter speeds, my camera would not work. I don't know if I got extra anxious to take the next shot and pressed down to soon or what. It works fine at first.
