This worked perfect to help me with composition and having images that were more straight out of the camera. There are lots of youtube videos out there to walk you through how to do the replacement and I found it very easy to do.

Every Canon camera I own has a grid screen installed. This is a great way to make certain you have the image where you want it before pressing the shutter button.

Installed this in my 6D. Works great and solved a problem I sometimes have with keeping images 'level' when using the viewfinder and a level reference isn't available. I seldom use the LCD screen (with grid), so this is something that I should have purchased some time ago. This screen should be standard issue.

Just what I needed to aid me in keeping horizons horizontal and clock-towers vertical! I'm surprised my Canon 6D did not come with it, but this inexpensive purchase came with detailed instructions and the tool to keep my greasy fingers off the glass focusing screens as I changed them out. The packaging is perfect to keep the standard screen clean and safe, although I have no intention of returning it to my camera. And, of course, Adorama shipped it real fast. What's not to like?

This is very useful for quickly lining up horizontals and verticals, especially in architectural photography It is a good compositional aid. It is nice and bright, quick and simple to change out.

Canon should put these things in as standard. I put this screen in my old 40D, 50D, and now the 6D. Makes shooting landscapes and overall alignment of horizontals and verticals dead easy. If I did macro work I might prefer the super bright focusing screen, but for general photography I don't think you can beat this one.

It is like you see it when you want to see it. What I mean is, when you need to have straigt pictures it is there. Doing wedding candids or anything other than buildings you see right past the lines.

For an advanced amateur, like me, this is an interesting screen for framing shots, especially under good lighting conditions. I'm cropping less from the images and enhancing quality as a result. Probably not for everyone, but useful to me.

The first screen was defective, Adorama took care of the replacement immediately. Today I received the new screen. The box was sealed and packed differently than the first time. Everything was impeccable. I decided to inspect the new screen before proceeding with the removal of the original screen. The screen was flawless, free of dust and ready to be installed. The removal of the original screen off the Canon 6D is a very easy process and the mounting of the new EG-D focus screen is just as simple. Pretty much a ten second affair. Having done that, I replaced the lens back on the 6D, took a couple of pictures and noticed that the screen indeed helps tremendously maintaining a horizon or a perpendicular as well as a nice composition. This particular screen should be the standard screen on the Canon 6D. It is worth the money, no doubt about it. Note: This screen fits perfectly on the Canon EOS 6D.

I'm primarily a wildlife & landscape photographer & being able to align my shots was crucial. Difference between a good but crooked shot & a great shot. Found myself spending more time in post processing trying to make alignment adjustments than what I should. The addition of this grid screen has paid for itself in my first shoot since I bought it. Mainly because i've never been a huge fan of using Live View to get the same effect. The installation seemed intimidating at first but after searching YouTube for some instructional videos, i was able to make the switch in about 10 mins start to finish. Make sure you are in a dust free area though, since you'll have the sensor exposed for that period of time. Nothing but good things to say about the screen so far & the ease its added to my shots.

For landscape photography this focusing screen with "Grids" is a must. Was easy to install and works great. My only question is why Canon did not include this with the 5D Mark II!

Helps with alignment and framing as designed. Useless for very low light or night scenes. Dust magnet during installation!! Blower helps, but difficult to get rid of every speck. Fortunately doesn't effect picture. Not too difficult to install.

Nice grid, but I was surprised it didn't come installed in the camera! Installation process is simple. Have to pay attention on the instalation! Do not force it ones in place - the cover have to snap easy on place!

I sometimes have problems with horizons not being level, and this screen is a must have in my opinion. You would be amazed just how out of level your photos really are when you have these grid lines as guides that make it painfully evident. This is one of those simple additions that will really help your photography. It comes with very good instructions and an installation tool. It is also mounted in a secure case so you have a good place to store the screen you remove from your camera. I was quite nervous at doing the installation, but I read the instructions several times, worked in GOOD light, and did it with no problems! It is a somewhat delicate "operation" and you CAN do some real damage to the camera, so if things like that bother you, you may want to take it to a good camera shop for installation. I will say if you are fine with cleaning your own sensor, then you will have no problem installing the screen. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because I actually wish the grid lines were MORE visible. They are really only noticeable in bright light, at other times they are actually more faint than I would prefer.
