A must for manual focus lenses!

Works great in my 6D. Easy install with the provided tool. Helps me focus my old fast prime lenses. The screen definitely makes it appear darker in the viewfinder with a 2.8 lens. Miss the split screen focus... but this screen helps.

Helps with focus, but…….

Only use this for faster lenses like 2.8 or faster becasue for slower lenses it becomes very dark.
Screen is very accurate for manual focus lenses and almost as good as a split image screen. Great for lens whacking/free lensing.

Better then expected in some ways.

I "always" use autofocus, but wanted to see a more correct depth of field in the viewfinder.  I use mostly the 35mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.4, and 85mm f/1.2.  It's great for that... the background is much blurrier in the viewfinder than before.  The downside... with my 2.8 zooms, the viewfinder is definitely dimmer than before.  Not noticeable if the light is great, but if the light level is dimmer (read: indoors), then it's definitely harder to see what's going on.  Long story short... great for ultra fast primes or outdoor use, probably a lot harder to use for zooms indoors.  Wedding this weekend so we'll see!  Definitely do not buy if you use slower lenses than f/2.8!

pay heed to the "dimmer with f/2.8"

I started using my Voigtlander 40 ultron 2 for about two months before I bought this focusing screen. There were a number of shots I missed. It took me longer than I had hoped to find focus, and focus confirmation. After installing the screen that time was cut significantly. It is clearly better to have this than not have this product for manual focus. It makes it easier to focus around the frame, and not rely on the focus points. If it does make the veiwfinder technically darker I haven't noticed, because the function it serves outweighs any additional darkness it MAY have added.
