expensive, even at Adorama's discount, disappointment

I bought this for my Canon XA11 video camcorder. But since this is an add on and not a preplacement for the built in lens, the effective field of view is vary narrow with respect to the zoom range of the builtin. Much of the view is occluded by a black shadow representing the circle of the lense accept in a very narrow range of the zoom range

Great Image

Lens is of the highest quality and images are as good without lens or with lens. Price at Adorama is cheapest around. The only negative is when you zoom completely out, the frame of the lens can be seen in the image. Canon ought to redesign the lens so you can have full zoom out.
