Best investment I've made under $100 for my photography. With the camera calibration software that you can download from their website, I was able to make a DCP profile that works in DxO Photolab and now my pictures look more alive. For some reason DxO has awful generic profiles for Panasonic Lumix Cameras, but the DCP profile restores the real colors and even opens up the image a little. Skies look more saturated with deeper blues, skin tones look right, without magenta-ish tones, and pinks and reds look proper now. The thing is, no matter how much I tried, in DxO I just couldn't get the colors I wanted, especially with skin tones. Lightroom/CameraRaw also improves a lot, but the DCP profile was a necessity for DxO. The only issue I have with this Color Checker is that it looks so easy to destroy by dropping it in the wrong surface (like dirt). So be very careful with it. I will look into getting a sort of case for it, which I'm sure the more expensive bigger brothers of this color checker come with.

While compact in size, the ColorChecker Classic Mini Target packs a powerful punch in ensuring accurate color representation in your photography, videography, and graphic design projects. This pocket-sized color calibration tool, measuring just 63.5 x 109.0mm, is a standard 24-patch ColorChecker target that fits conveniently in your pocket or camera bag.
The ColorChecker Classic Mini Target features six grayscale patches, RGB and CMYK colors, and a mix of everyday colors that deliver exceptional results. It's designed to work seamlessly with the ColorChecker Camera Calibration software, enabling you to create ACR or ICC profiles with ease.
Ideal for on-location shoots, this handy tool is perfect for a variety of scenarios. In digital photography, it helps you check images, output, and monitors. For traditional photography, it aids in checking films, lights, filters, and paper. Graphic artists can use it to check any printing or proofing process, while digital imaging professionals can use it to check scanners, monitors, and proofing devices. In the world of cinematography, television, and video, it's perfect for checking cameras, monitors, lights, and film.
The ColorChecker Classic Mini Target is more than just a tool; it's a standard for creating custom camera profiles (DNG and ICC), correcting neutral balance and exposure, and providing a benchmark for color corrections. It offers a non-subjective standard of comparison to help you determine the true color balance of any color rendition system, thereby avoiding costly mistakes.
The Calibrite Camera Calibration Software, an optional supporting application and Lightroom plug-in, helps you maximize the potential of the ColorChecker Classic Mini Target. This target is an array of 24 scientifically formulated colors that have been the leading industry color reference target for over 40 years. It's designed to deliver true-to-life color reproduction, allowing you to predict and control how color will look under any illumination.
Each of the 24 colors on the ColorChecker target represents the actual color of natural objects, such as human skin tone, foliage, and blue sky, reflecting light just like its real-world counterpart. Each solid patch is formulated individually to produce a pure, flat, rich color.
The ColorChecker Classic Mini Target has been used by color perfectionists for the past decade to create custom DNG profiles for Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop workflows. It also supports building custom ICC camera profiles for use in Capture One (or other ICC-compatible software) when combined with Calibrite ColorChecker Camera Calibration software.
Using the ColorChecker Classic Mini Target is simple. Include it in your photo or video capture and use it later during editing to compare, measure, and analyze differences in color reproduction in any color rendition system. This objective standard will help you avoid costly mistakes and trial-and-error color adjustments while editing your images or color grading.
The ColorChecker Classic Mini Target is also compatible with a range of 3rd party software including Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom via a free plugin, Color Finale, Black Magic DaVinci Resolve for color grading in a video editing workflow, Hasselblad Phocus for ICC camera profiling, 3DLUT Creator, and DxO Photolab 4.
