The chart is very expensive but worth it if you're serious about color management. I used chart with iProfiler software (both scanner and camera) to create custom ICC profile. New profile is much better than the canned profiles that came with scanner & camera.

An indispensable tool for photographers and videographers, the 8.5x11" ColorChecker Gray Balance Card is designed to ensure optimal exposure and color accuracy from capture to edit. This large-format gray balance card, measuring 215.9 x 279.4mm, is the biggest in its range, matching the size of the ColorChecker Classic Target.
The ColorChecker Gray Balance Card is specifically engineered for reflective spot exposure metering, instilling confidence that your images will be exposed with utmost precision. This card is essentially an enlarged version of the 18% gray reference square found in the standard 24-patch ColorChecker, offering a larger surface for easier use.
Scientifically crafted, the gray on this card is spectrally neutral, reflecting equal amounts of red, blue, and green in all lighting conditions. This ensures a precise, uniform surface that is crucial for accurate color balancing.
As a portable A4-sized gray balance (18%) target, this card is perfect for both imagemakers and filmmakers looking to set the correct exposure. The ColorChecker Gray Balance Card is versatile, with applications spanning digital photography, traditional photography, and cinematography.
In digital photography, it aids in exposure metering and gray balance, adjusting your digital camera's color sensitivity to match the ambient lighting conditions perfectly. Traditional photographers can use it to check films, lights, filters, and paper. Cinematographers can verify gray balance in the configuration of cameras, lights, and film.
The ColorChecker Gray Balance Card recognizes that the perceived color of white changes based on ambient conditions - cooler outdoors, warmer indoors, and greener under fluorescent light. It empowers you to adjust your digital camera's color sensitivity to match these conditions, effectively altering what the camera "sees." Even in a controlled studio environment, establishing an accurate custom gray balance with this card ensures an accurate image from the start of each new photo session.
