Questions & Answers

Shopper : Does anyone use this exact waiste/strap model with a 5D mark 2, or is it best to get the other one for NON-PRO SERIES cameras, or ones without battery grips?CARL Z : I use the cotton carrier with a canon 7d and a canon 60d both with battery grips. I use it as a single and a double camera system. This system works great. the cameras stay in place, they are not moving all over the place and they are easy to access. The shoulder strap helps with the weight and the leash is a good safety feature. Highly recommend the system, especially when you need to keep your hands free and especially if you are using more than one cameraTHOMAS W M : Oops forgot to say I use it with a 300F4 lens plus 1.4X teleconverter so the lens /camera assembly is fairly long and heavy. I shoot in rough woods and brush and like the way the Cotton Carrier allows me to have both hands free. Never had any camera damage.THOMAS W M : I use my Cotton Carrier Lite with an EOS7D camera (no vertical grip) but don't see why there would be a problem with a 5DMk2 and vertical grip. The attaching button device just screws into the tripod attachment threaded recess and stays there unless you move it to another camera.RYAN S : Hello, yeah I use this same one for a 5d mkii and have another holster on other side with 50d, I use this belt for weddings and seniors, I absolutely love it, would highly recommend it, you'll be glad you phurchased it!SILVIA M U : no i don't use the canon 5d, however while i have the canon 7d, i have used this equipment primarily with my two nikons: the d3x (bigger and heavier than the 5d) and the nikon 300 typically with a 70-200 f2.8 lense. i think you would have no problem with a pro camera (the d3x is the top of the line for nikon...heavy and partially why i decided on this carrier.) its quite comfortable. i have considered buying the vest, but as a woman i am not sure it would be as comfortable as this type of arrangement. i am not sure it this helps ... but that is my experience.ANTHONY H : The cotton carrier will work with any camera that can be tripod mounted. There is a separate fitting that screws into the threaded hole where you would mount your camera to a tripod. The cotton carrier holds my pentax k7 securely even with a 300mm lens.RONALD S : I have the setup you're talking about, with a 24-105 lens. With the lens hood attached the camera does rub against my leg, but does not cause any problems or discomfort. With a longer lens attached to the camera there might be a problem.
