About CalDigit VR2

The CalDigit VR2 8TB RAID System array features a quadruple interface for exceptional connectivity as well as an easy to read frontside LCD. All of the CalDigit VR's sport two hot swappable drives which means changing out discs doesn't slow your workflow. Supporting RAID 0, 1 and JBOD capable of reaching a top speed of 220MB/s, the CalDigit VR is a fast portable RAID solution. This hard drive is perfect for video editing, including playback of high definition video. The CalDigit VR comes with advanced, powerful, yet easy to use software making management tasks simple. Easily monitor hardware, perform firmware updates, view diagnostic reports and set up email notifications. The orange LCD display on the CalDigit VR displays configuration, temperature, fan RPM and hard drive health status.

CalDigit VR2 Features

  • Hot Swappable Drives: Equipped with two hot swappable drive modules, drive replacement and expansion is a simple task. This allows for easy archiving as well as internal access for replacement of the fan
  • Security and Temperature Management: CalDigit VR is equipped with an aluminum case that dissipates heat and keeps the internal hard drives at a proper temperature. This process is supported by an ambient temperature controlled smart fan
  • Hardware RAID: Hardware RAID eliminates the need for additional CPU cycles and RAM usage on the host workstation. This leaves your computer to focus on more important tasks like video and effects processing while the CalDigit VR handles all the disk work and data processing
  • Interfaces: The CalDigit VR provides a quadruple interface including USB 3.0, FireWire 400, FireWire 800 and eSATA. The device is also equipped with two FireWire 800 ports allowing you to daisy chaining multiple CalDigit VRs together
  • RAID Function: Supports RAID 0, 1, Spanning, JBOD; Automatically online fast disk rebuilding; Automatic disk failure detection; Hot swappable disks
