Really good for large cameras on your shoulder. Structural vest with great support, unlike easyrig which has a softer feeling.

None of us are getting any younger, and the fact is that any camera on your shoulder is going to want to push your back out - simple as that, no matter what your age. The Ergorig is literally a weight off my shoulders and as soon as I used it, I couldn't believe that this hadn't been created earlier. I've been filming for 25 years, and I wish I'd had this before. This will ALWAYS come with me now, without doubt. I'm less tired, I can work for longer without fatigue. It's a win on every single level. I completely recommend this product. Cris Blyth.

I work as the Camera Operator on an episodic tv show. We do a good deal of hand held with Alexa cameras. 35lbs over the course of the day adds up. The Ergorig is great for most setups and dimishes the physical strain markedly.

If I had to choose to take my Ergorig or my camera on a shoot, I'd take the Ergorig. In other words, I'd rather not shoot than ever shoot again without this fantastic support. If you shoulder-mount a cinema-style camera, and you don't have a body like Jean-Claude Van Damme, you probably want this. I've tried other systems, like Easyrigs and Glide/Steady Vests, but prefer this for several reasons. PROS: - It does a perfect job of relocating the weight from your shoulder to your hips. - It's effortless and fast to put on and take off yourself. - It's 100% usable alone. You don't need an AC to grab the rig after every shot. You can easily drop the camera to the ground or a tripod without disconnecting straps or unloading/locking springs. - It's NOT HOT; because It's not a backpack and it's not a full vest. Very little touches you other than the belt which is well padded and ventilated. - The rig's center of gravity remains in line with your body. With a backpack and vest, the camera is out in front of you, which still takes a great deal of effort to counteract. - It fits in a suitcase fully assembled and takes up relatively little room. I usually pack my clothes and gear inside its frame. CONS: - It's not as stable for dynamic shots as other suspended systems. - It only really allows for two height options, shoulder-mounted or underslung (with a strap). And I don't love the underslung mode. - For cine-style cameras; you need a built-up shoulder rig with long handles and good balance. For me in the capacity of shooting documentaries where I almost always have a built-up rig to accommodate a large v-mount battery, audio, external video recoding, and cine-glass; the Ergorig literally takes the weight off my shoulders. I love it. This is an ideal solution, implemented and manufactured extremely well.

Ergorig

I work as the Camera Operator on an episodic tv show. We do a good deal of hand held with Alexa cameras. 35lbs over the course of the day adds up. The Ergorig is great for most setups and dimishes the physical strain markedly.
Before, camera operators had to choose between their passion for handheld camera work and their physical well-being. Now, with the Ergorig Lightweight Body Mounted Harness System, you can enjoy the freedom of untethered handheld camera operation without compromising your back health. This innovative weight displacement system is designed to prevent spinal compression while allowing you to operate your camera as you traditionally would, without affecting the camera's movement or balance.
The Ergorig Harness System is a game-changer in the world of cinematography. It effectively transfers 100% of the camera's weight from your shoulder and back to your hips, bypassing your spine entirely. This revolutionary design ensures that you can focus on capturing the perfect shot, rather than worrying about the physical strain.
Designed with the needs of professional camera operators in mind, the Ergorig system is not only functional but also comfortable and easy to use. It's effortless to put on and take off, and it's 100% usable alone. You don't need an assistant to grab the rig after every shot. You can easily drop the camera to the ground or a tripod without disconnecting straps or unloading/locking springs.
The Ergorig Harness System is also travel-friendly. It fits in a suitcase fully assembled and takes up relatively little room, making it an ideal companion for on-location shoots.
To ensure the best fit, measure from your front hip point to the top middle of your shoulder. If you're less than 21", order a small, otherwise order regular. Your front hip point is the part that feels like the tip of the triangle in your hip on the front side that is right around your belt line.
Experience the perfect blend of comfort, functionality, and freedom with the Ergorig Lightweight Body Mounted Harness System. It's not just a tool, it's a solution for the modern camera operator.
