Questions & Answers

jeff b : can I use a binoviewer with this?PATRICK L : I seen a Denkmeier Binoviewer used on a Coronado SolarMax 90 H-alpha telescope at the Solar Star party (Barlow Bob) at the NEAF convention a few years ago. It looked very impressive and it was comfortable to use. Easier if you don't have to readjust the individual focus when you are the only one using it. Good luck with it!PAUL L : Sorry, I don't have a binoviewer. I guess your question is in regard to whether or not the binoviewer will reach focus or not with this scope. (As the eyepiece end of this scope is just a standard 1.25" receptacle and will physically fit any 1.25" binoviewer just fine I'm sure). All I can say is that with a single eyepiece, focus is reached when the drawtube is just about at its farthest extension (away from the objective). Using a 2x barlow, focus is reached near the least extension (closer to the objective). The total amount of travel of the focuser is about 2 3/8 inches. Hope that helps a little.RICHARD P : Sorry, I have no experience using binoviewers.GEORGE E : It's highly unlikely. The eyepiece sits close to the focuser leaving no optical path length to accommodate the prisms in a binoviewer.
Shopper : Is this single or double stack?ANDREW R : This solar telescope is a single stack unit.

Very happy!

I own the 60mm BF5 version. I am quite pleased with it's performance. I use a William Optics binoviewer with a 2x barlow screwed on the end and if the seeing is decent, it works great. You would want to use low power eyepieces of course. I use two 32mm plossl's. Viewing the sun with both eyes is awesome! Finn
