why not some lighting
some basic/cheap lighting would be useful

Totally worth the[$]
I use this to take photos of my animation. It's well within the budget of a student, compared to other copystand models costing hundreds or thousands of dollars. it's fine for drawings between 4"x6" and 8.5"x11", which are the sizes I usually work within drawing animation by hand.
