Have owned an HL4 for many years, and grab it whenever I'm working in a corner, inside a cabinet, under the sink?wherever MUCH more light would make a huge difference. Before that, I would grab a "trouble light", the kind that hangs from a hook and has a 20 foot extension cord on it to be able to illuminate a work area. Most inconvenient. Now, I use the HL4 quite a bit for drilling a precise hole, or marking something very exactly to cut or drill?you can't beat it. My 52 y.o. daughters each have one, and they absolutely love it? "Do not know what they would do without it" Just a great device!

Great headlamps, awesome warranty. I use these headlamps a lot and bought 2. They both started experiencing issues, one with the strap and one the light was going dim. I just provided pictures and model number of my defective items and Coast replaced it quickly with new units! Very happy wirh customer service!

An outstanding headlamp. As an aircraft mechanic I need one that stays in place and I don't have to press a button several times to get it on. I like the on off button and the adjustable comfortable headband. The best headlamp I have ever owned.

I've been using Coast headlamps for running in the pre-dawn darkness for many years. The HL4 is easy to turn on and off, even when wearing gloves, and the beam can't be missed when there's a car coming down the road. I often use the red beam when running in dark areas to to illuminate my path without ruining my night vision.

Great light. Only thing to make it better is to have headband removable. Coast is an excellent company that stands behind their products. Many thanks to Alex for helping me out.

I have had this headlamp for a couple of years. I love how bright it is. When you go hiking at night this will light the trail. The red light is the perfect “in camp” light. If you’ve ever sat around a campfire getting blinded by everyone’s headlamp you will understand. The light is bright enough to see what you are doing and doesn’t attract moths to your face. The battery pack in the back means the weight is more evenly distributed and you can wear it for hours without getting head sore. I am rough on my gear and the fact that it is still going strong after 2 years is a testament to the quality.

I was extremely pleased. I was looking for a head lamp that would stay on my head but was still comfortable to wear. I looked at 2 other head lamps in the store but this one looked the easiest to use. I tried it on once I was home and was pretty surprised by how weightless it felt strapped to my head. The light was easy to turn on with the press on and off button on the top and bottom of the lamp. I also thought the red button for the red light was a good detail to distinguish from the dual colors.

so far the light has worked flawlessly HL4 for the conditions I work in. If I may suggest the product would be enhanced if Coast would provide the clips that hold it to the hard hat along with the product when purchased. I will stress the good customer service I recieved when i called to question the clips in which Coast is shipping to me at no cost.
