I bought this knife 2 years ago and I must say I'm pretty disappointed. The blade doesn't hold an edge and is always coming loose I have to take it apart and tighten the screw that holds in the blade constantly. I'm going to throw it in the scrap bin and buy a Kershaw. Wish I didn't waste money on this one.

I bought this knife with a new flashlight, it looks good, tight, locks rock hard every time and sharp, very very sharp! The only thing that surprised me was the size of the knife it is a big one, it would be a better fit if it was a 3 1/4? to 3 1/2? blade. It is an awesome knife for my backpack or truck not so much for pocket carry. The knife is awesome don?t get me wrong but only 4 stars because of the size.

The thumb stud came up missing on mine. I got ahold of COAST and they replaced the whole knife. I wish I hadn't lost the original thumb stud but their CS is great.

Seems very well built and sturdy,,nice locking featutrs but even with light use itss hard to keep a sharp blade,,blade gets dull very fast and doesnt hold an edge very well.

All other aspects of the knife point towards a good, quality knife. If you're never going to store/hold it using the belt clip, don't let this review stop you. However, the belt clip points in the wrong direction. On a folding knife of any kind, where the blade doesn't LOCK in the closed position, the belt clip needs to point in the same direction as the blade. Why? Because you're likely putting this on your belt, or attaching to the rim of your pocket, or maybe onto the rim of your satchel. Because the blade is now facing up, the lack of a foolproof close-lock system means that the blade runs a risk of popping open. As such, it can catch on the next thing that slides down past the knife? like your hand. Or your wrist. Which doesn't bode well if an artery gets sliced open. Yes, the mechanism to hold the blade open does also have a divot that falls into a corresponding hole in the knife when the blade goes into the closed position. But it only acts as a strong suggestion, it does not keep the blade closed until it is explicitly opened. Even a quick flip of the wrist is enough to make the blade pop open. This means that if you have it secured on your belt or on the rim of a satchel, even a jump from a moderate height could cause the knife to open up without you knowing. Overall, I am very pleased with the build and quality. It has a firm, heavy weight in my hands, and has a very useful thumb grip for forceful cutting - you are unlikely to lose your grip on this knife. The action is smooth and decisive (including when it gets flipped open via wrist action -- very smooth!), and the wood panels are beautiful in the attention to detail. No rough spots or sharp corners here!
