Strap on the headlamp lost its elasticity and was replaced witha new one. It fit fine and was easy to replace, better than the original!

After several years of service the head strap became stretched to the point where I couldn't keep it on my head. I contacted Coast and in no time at all they had a replacement strap in the mail.

Used it to make a wear part for an "unavailable service part from Coast for HL8R. Waited a year for headband replacement for (2) HL8R headlamps, both unusable. Parts were unavailable due to covid, then supply chain, lastly do a re-design. Oddly, the HL8R can still be purchased at $100 online, but necessary wear parts are unavailable for the last year with no promise date available. There were a lot of suppliers and we bought what we mistakenly thought was a reputable US Company. We purchased (5) rechargeable lights from Coast and paid a premium. The HL8R headlamps with a lifetime guarantee, not including the attachement straps (unreplaceable for the last year, wear item) make this more of a one year disposable light.

The headlight is great, but the straps last about 2 months. Then you have to adjust daily as they stretch out. To the point the light falls off my head. That's why I order a bunch of spares.

I like my light. As a truck mechanic I used it everyday day and sometimes all day. But the strap wore out and it took so long to get another. I had to buy another light.

I have read other reviews and did not find the passing of wires that difficult. A little patience and manipulation of cord and band was all that was needed. I tried to accommodate other types of headbands and they were just not that comfortable.

I have two of these headlights they are probably three years old and used almost every night they are the best I?ve had the only problem with them is the headlight straps were out for six bucks you can get another one highly recommend this product

I got a replacement strap under warranty and that all went smooth. The strap is good but the pocket for the wire to pass thru is sewn up and so the only way to pass the wire from the battery pack to the light assembly is to desolder the tiny wires from the circuit board in the battery box pass them thru the strap pocket and then resolver and assemble the battery holder. It?s a pain to do and tedious. I almost tossed the headlamp because of this. I went ahead and did the work because I like the headlamp, but a bit of Velcro on the strap pocket so it can open up or a connector on the wire would make life much easier.

No instructions with the strap. No easy way to install on headlamp. Outside of desoldering the power cord, I can not figure out how to remove the old one and install the new one.

I bought two extra straps to go with the headlamp I bought last fall. Love this headlamp, and love having extra straps so I don't end up running with dirty straps. Very bright headlamp that is great for my morning runs. Live in the south so by the end of my runs the strap is soaking wet and now I am able to cycle the straps throughout my week.
