I am a long-time customer 15 years +=. every handheld or head light have always been a high-quality the amount of light emitted is very bright and crisp. battery life very good i use one of my light every day. and i have never had a problem warranty Coast has never failed with customer service or warranty. i highly recommend these products.

Got this replacement their warranty policy. Have a small farm . Bought two of these about 5 years ago. They get used in the winter months allot. 2-3 hours per day / 7days. One stopped working (switch) I think . A few emails later a replacement showed up in my mail. Wow who stands behind their product like this these days. I would buy more and recommend. Thanks Coast

Headlamp is fine -- it's the warranty that is outstanding. My old one stopped working and they replaced it, no questions, no cost. I would never consider another brand.

Great product overall. Quality build, great brightness, nice features. Only small drawback is with smaller size the button to turn on/select light features is harder to push (effectively) because of alignment with finger due to reduced size of switch area.

This was a replacement for one that had been used for years every day at work. A hinge broke and they replaced with a new one. It shipped quickly and came in a nice box. Crazy how bright the brand new ones are. Couldn't be happier with Coast.

I use headlamps often for work and I have owned several so far. This one is a bit heavy and bounces around on my head as a am walking. . Otherwise it is really bright and well made.

I bought one a few years ago when i used to work for the usps. recently, the on/off button got stuck while the red light button worked fine. i called up coast after reading that they were very customer friendly and guarantee/warranty their products as long as you didn't break it or intentionally damage it and it was really defective from normal wear/tear. they asked me to send them a pic for their review and voila, a day or 2 later they emailed back saying they would replace my coast headlamp for free as long as i paid for the $6 shipping which i did gladly... darned, can't beat that after using a product for ~5 years...

I have 3 of the fl85 lights and several smaller ones. Very bright and durable. If you use yours often as I do and happen to wear it out, they have a great customer service and lifetime warranty. Had one replaced for free not long ago.

This is a great light. It's the only one I've ever owned that was this powerful, so I don't know how it compares for battery life. I get about 2 hours on high setting with a set of Panasonic Eneloops in this one. I keep a set on the charger, and when the light starts to get dim I swap the batteries out. Coast is a great company to deal with. I had a problem with the hinge on my first light and they sent me a new one, no problem.

The FL85 is a solid performer in many conditions, with acceptable battery life (3xAAA) in H setting, with L lasting very long. The focus ring enables nearly glare-free wide view and precision spot. The tilting head holds well and is useful for different applications. It is my go-to headlamp and has been used from camping, to night-time snowboard runs and most activities between. The FL85 is somewhat bulky/heavy, making it cumbersome for long treks or running. At the same time, the 360* reflective headband increases visibility for drivers. Overall, the FL85 is a high-performing headlamp with good value.

Excellent durable product. I use the FL-85 headlamp daily. It is bright enough to see the object clearly without bleaching all the color. The focusing ring produces a sharp light field without dark holes or inconsistent light intensity. The headband is adjustable and comfortable. I am very satisfied.

I bought my headlamp a couple of years ago and love the hands-free ability it gave me while camping. My hinge broke and I thought I was just going to have to deal with it that way since the light still worked great. Love the multiple settings by the way! When planning another trip I thought I should try to get a replacement part. I reached out to Coast and, to my surprise, all it took was a picture of the broken hinge and the wonderful customer service rep had a new headlamp shipped out to me!! Thanks for the great service!

I use headlamps for a wide variety of tasks in and around my home. Some of the tasks I use this model for are home improvement projects, walking the dog at night, rummaging around the attic, or any number of things that I need light and two free hands for. I purchased this light a few years ago, and it had gotten regular use. However, after a demolition of a shed and a wash of the light and strap afterwards, the red LEDs would not fully switch off, causing the batteries to slowly drain. Bummer. Thinking I was out of my headlight, I realized Coast has a lifetime warrantee on this product. I simply emailed their customer service, and in a couple hours, a real person emailed me back. All I did is upload a couple photos of the defective headlamp, and Coast sent me a brand new light. I only had to pay for shipping. Keep in mind I was not able to produce a receipt. Coast also said I can keep the old light without the need to send it back to them. Based on the great quality of this light and amazing customer service, I plan to continue to use Coast products. Thank you very much.

I'd give the FL85 a 5 star rating if I hadn't gone though 2 of them in a year (the most recent was just purchased 4 months before it stopped working). I don't know if it is a design flaw in the on/off switch or what the deal is but I am so disappointed ... I LOVED this headlamp but as someone who walks an average of 3 hours in the dark every day need one I can rely on. I am researching to see if any of the other models last longer because aside from the short lifecycle it really was perfect.

Got this for when I work in dark spaces and I really like it. Nice bright light which is adjustable, and the adjustable headband keeps it well secured. Have been using it for a few months and can recommend it to others.

My wife bought this for me for a birthday present and this is as bright or brighter than some of my handheld flashlights. I will be replacing my other brand headlamps with Coast headlamps in the future. I keep my headlamps in my boat for fishing at night during the summer when its to hot to fish during the day.

My family and I do a lot of camping during the summer months and normally use flashlights when hiking through the woods. This headlamp came in handy for night time adventures. It has the ability to shine a wide range beam to a spot beam. My favorite feature is it's weatherproof and impact resistance, so if you drop it your good. I like the adjustable reflective safety strap it comes with and a fixed red LED light that helps preserve night vision. Overall, exquisite quality, extremely durable and virtually unbreakable. I definitely recommend as an added benefit to outdoor safety gear.
