Alright blade
Not sure what this machete is ment for but it is absolutely not ment to chop wood such as oak since its broke within 8 light chops. On the other hand, customer service and support was superb in helping me solve issues.

This is what you need in your collection
My first thought on seeing this machete was, "this is just what I need to complete my ensemble for September 19th". For those who may not be aware, 09/19 is international talk like a pirate day. Okay, so... I am a fan of cutting instruments in general and machetes are my favorite of these implements. I have several, some are crappy flea market finds others are more usable but, this little beauty, the f1400 by Coast is quite simply the finest I own. It offers classic styling with modern materials. It's performance is top shelf all the way. Since I was not in the wilderness when it arrived, I stopped by my buddy's place, he has a woodshop and several gangly trees separating his place from the neighbors. The first thing I did with my brand new f1400, was to pick up a piece of well seasoned hickory 1by scrap to test the saw back. To my delighted surprise it cut through without hesitation and did not, I repeat, did not damage the teeth at all. In fact, they still looked brand new. So, off to the treeline I traipsed, f1400 in hand. Being the all or nothing fellow that I am, I spied a nice 6" diameter limb of the hackberry tree just over my head and commenced hacking away at this hackberries limb. In no time, roughly 8 minutes, the limb was freed from its moorings and lay on the ground at my feet. The f1400 offers style, and quality of performance that you'll be not likely to find at nearly 50% more cost or more. If you are in the market for a great machete, for using while camping, yardwork or perhaps you need to level up your pirate game, you can't go wrong with the f1400.

Good to have
We explore a lot of places deep in the swamp. These areas may normally be above water and are now open to explore by water. Does the job, good weight and feel. Doesn't bend or flop around when using. Keep one in my truck, go bag and kayak gear. Have spent more for lesser. so good value.

Impressive!
Really impressed, it's what I said and what I hear from my guides. It's easy to carry, sharp and the saw back, well let's just saw it does the job.

Cuts Great!!
few key points I like on the machete are the full tang which gives great support when cutting. the hand gard gives it a secure grip so when im hacking away I don't have to worry about my hand slipping on the blade. Final detail I like actually has to do with the sheath I am happy that they didnt cheap out on the clasp and used metal. The look is clean looking and feels good in the hand.

Awesome blade
This is a pretty sweet machete. It seems pretty durable as the blade metal is the full length, and the handle is just a cover over the metal. The handle and knuckle guard are made of plastic, this is the only thing which could potentially break. I hope it lasts, but there is a lifetime warranty on this thing. I like the serrated edge on the top too. It just looks intimidating. It’s got a nice weight and feel and It is the only machete I will ever need.

Nice Blade With A Dangerous Flaw
The actual machete is great, it seems to be very high quality, is very sharp, the grip is extremely comfortable in the hand, and the serrated edge which stretches almost the entire length of the blade comes in very handy. The problem is with the sheath. There is a button-down strap on the sheath, which I assume is meant to keep the machete in place, but it FAILS miserably at that job. Poor positioning of this strap allows the machete to slide quite far out of the sheath, so much so that almost an entire 3 inches of blade is fully exposed and poses a serious safety hazard. Not only that, but the way the sheath is shaped is also a problem, as the blade enters and exits the sheath, it actually cuts into the edge of the sheath as well as cuts into the strap that is there to secure the blade. It really is a shame, the machete is so nice, but the problems with the sheath are just not acceptable.

Great for camping
This machete is great for camping. I go camping often and so I need a versatile tool to help me get through the time that I was out there. This machete is sharp, and cuts very well. The other side has a saw blade that can be used as well, which is very useful. The belt loop is convenient and makes it easy to carry around too.
