I originally bought this for a trip abroad because of the steel reinforced strap. Had the Black Rapid and must say this is considerably more comfortable, easier to use and extremely well made. The Black Rapid's just sitting in the closet at this point. Very surprised these aren't more popular. The little shock absorber is very strong and eases the shoulder pain and camera jarring.

My upper spine is fused and this keeps the weight away from that area with my Lumix G3 with assorted lenses.

This holds my Nikon D80 DSLR with MB-D80 vertical/dual battery pack! I went to one of the museums in Washington, DC over the weekend and I have to admit, this "compact strap" with "steel" embedded wire held my gear with ease! Not to mention the smooth motion when I had to grab my gear to take a picture! This particular model comes with the "bear" bearing system which allowed my camera do a full 360 degree spin! It's not like the other model where is uses a carabiner connection. PLUS, it comes with the insurance (must register online)! There are only two drawbacks... One is the thickness of the wire. It's about the thickness of a large paper clip (when straightened). I guess it's because of the width of the strap measuring only about 5/8" or 10/16" wide. The second is the strap's fiber strands easily loosens, but can be easily removed though. (This is how mine arrived...I have to double check with Adorama.) The bottom line... It works (for me)! The Pros section describing "Comfortable Strap, Compact, Durable, Good Protection, Lightweight" holds true! The Cons I described is not SO serious!

Great solution for fused spine

The Sunbounce Sun-Sniper Compact Strap (Black) is to carry a compact camera or small D-SLR camera. It has a shock absorber that is integrated in the strap and makes carrying the camera even more comfortable. There is a Cutter Crusher anti-theft steel cable uses steel wire in the strap to prevent strap cutting.
It uses a friction eliminating, genuine stainless steel bearing that provides for better spinning with less unwanted swaying. The fully adjustable strap allows the camera to glide easily along the strap. The camera hangs at the side over the back and can be hoisted quickly, safely and ready to shoot. When not in use the camera will hang comfortably at the side or behind you depending on how you position the strap.
