Haved used it for years can mix 2 to 1 4 to 1 6 to 1or 8 to 1 depending on the type print you want it's like having Microsol & Decktol in one can. It has a long long shelf life after you mix it I've used it for years and would not think of changing to anything else Chuck W.

Over the years, LPD Powder Black & White Paper Developer has established itself as a reliable choice for photographers seeking long-lasting, high-quality results. This 5-gallon developer is renowned for its exceptional shelf life and versatility, making it a staple in many darkrooms.
LPD is a non-toxic paper developer, safe for skin contact, and free from any metal content. It's designed to deliver sharp, contrasting blacks and whites, with the ability to adjust dilution for varying skin tones. This feature makes it a versatile tool for photographers, allowing them to create a range of tonal effects without altering the contrast.
This developer is compatible with all types of photographic paper, including RC, offering you the flexibility to work with your preferred materials. Its unique formulation ensures that it doesn't stain or cause skin irritation, making it a user-friendly choice for photographers.
LPD Powder Black & White Paper Developer is available in both powder and liquid concentrate forms, catering to different user preferences. It's a neutral tone, long scale, normal contrast paper developer that can be used in the usual dilute-discard method or replenished for extended life.
One of the standout features of this developer is its impressive print capacity. A tray of 1/2 gallon of working solution can process a minimum of 360 - 8 x 10 single weight prints when properly replenished. This ensures uniform quality and tone throughout the useful life of the developer, eliminating the need to discard good developer prematurely.
Despite potential color variations from white or clear to slightly pink, or even black with extreme extended use, LPD maintains its effectiveness. These color changes do not indicate any deterioration in the product, but are due to variables in raw materials.
LPD does not contain Metol, a toxic developing agent commonly found in many developers. Instead, it uses Phenidone, a non-toxic developing agent that allows photographers to work without fear of skin problems. It also contains Hydroquinone, a regenerating chemical that acts rapidly on the Phenidone, ensuring the full strength of the solution is maintained until all the working and replenishment solution has been used.
With LPD Powder Black & White Paper Developer, you can explore a wide range of printing versatility. You can achieve tones from very cold to very warm, simply by selecting the paper and diluting the "stock" developer. This developer is designed to bring out the best in your prints, delivering brilliant blacks, pure sparkling whites, and a remarkable number of prints from a single tray of developer.
