Questions & Answers

DAVE J S : I did not see if this is a concentrate. Is there a dilution ratio for a working solution or is this a working solution as packaged?ACCOUNTING D : Yes this is a liquid concentrate. Go to Sprint Systems website for your support questions.OFFICE O : this is a concentrated solution... the ratio to water is 9 to 1.. so 9 water ... 1 solution... I found its really easy to use especially in class with my students and I have always used this brand...WILLIAM D : It's a concentrate. 1:9 ratio. KERRY A : Hi Dave, This is a concentrate. There is a working solution listed on the package.KRISTIN M : It's a concentrate. There's a dilution ratio on the top of the package, I believe it is 1:9.BUSINESS O : All Sprint developers are supplied as stock solutions; the working solution is 1 to 9. I use 100ml of developer to 900ml of water. My darkroom sessions last about 2 - 3 hours, so I change out the developer about halfway through my working time. This is just a habit I was taught 40 years ago by USAF photo Tech Sgt. This is a good developer. Follow the directions for development time/paper type. After you get used to working with it, adjust the times for your personal taste and the specific type of paper you use. It produces predictable, repeatable results.Michael S : Hi, The answer to your question is that it is a concentrate. It is mixed at a ratio of 1 part concentrate to 9 parts water. Hope this is helpful, Mike StewartCHRISTINA O : It is concentrated. Needs to be diluted 1:9. MELISA M : Yes, it is a concentrate. 1 part developer to 9 parts water is the standard ratio.ANDREW H : Quicksilver print developer, Block Stop bath and fixer when used for prints are all diluted 1:9. Concentrate is very stable over long storage and has very consistent developing times in the tray until it is exhausted and its activity on the paper crashes. Makes a cold tone image with Ilford multi-grade and a neutral tone image with Ilford warm tone paper. Have used this stuff for years as my primary print developer.GEORGE E : It is a concentrate. One part Quicksilver to 9 parts water. I recommend buying the spigot which is extra. It is much more convenient than trying to pour from the qube.ROWLAND S : The answer is 9 to 1. All the print quicksilver solutions are diluted 9 to 1. At least they were the last time I used them--2011.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?JENNIFER S : It's what we need for the summer classes at the art school where I teach. It's a good product.

Good tone, good toning

This developer renders a neutral tone but also reacts well to selenium on warmtone papers. In fact, this is my favorite all-round developer.

Find the perfect solution for your black and white print development needs with the Quicksilver Black & White Print Paper Developer. This high-capacity, economical developer is specifically designed to deliver neutral tones on your b&w prints, making it an ideal choice for professional photographers and hobbyists alike.

Unlike other developers, Quicksilver is free from metol, a common ingredient known to cause skin rashes, ensuring a safer and more comfortable user experience. Instead, it utilizes a unique developing agent, pyrazolidone-hydroquinone, which allows for precise control over print density, contrast, and color.

Quicksilver's distinctive feature is its ability to provide a consistent neutral color across all tones of your b&w prints. This consistency remains unaltered from highlight to shadow, setting it apart from Dimezone solutions, and remains constant regardless of development time, unlike metol-hydroquinone solutions.

For those using warm-tone papers, Quicksilver offers a more neutral color compared to other developers on the market. It develops all image tones at a constant rate, meaning that while the overall print density increases with development, the contrast - the relative difference between highlight and shadow density - remains unchanged.

Control over overall density can be achieved through exposure and/or development, while color and contrast are solely determined by the type of paper and grade or filtration used. With Quicksilver Black & White Print Paper Developer, you can achieve the perfect balance of density, contrast, and color in your black and white prints.
