3 nice filters

I've never had graduated filters before, so finding a 3-pack at an affordable price was great. I use the blue filter most often for adding color to a dull sky. This really saves post-processing time. Wish there was a lens mount for holding these filters, but I can't seem to find one. However, I'm happy with the results by just holding the filter up to the lens, while using a tripod.

About Cavision 3x4" - 3 Filter Set -

Cavision 3"x4" is a set of 3 filters which includes Graduated Neutral Density, Graduated Blue, Graduated Orange filters. One primary use for the Cavision Graduated ND filter is to darken the sky when it would otherwise be overexposed. Often it is necessary or desirable to balance the light intensity in one part of a scene with another. This is especially true in situations where you don't have total light control, as in bright contrasting landscapes.

Exposing for the foreground will produce a washed-out, over-exposed sky while exposing for the sky will leave the foreground dark and under-exposed. This filter enables cloud detail to be kept correctly exposed in the picture. Determining which graduated neutral density filter yields ideal results for any given lighting situation takes knowledge, experience and a collection of such filters. Choose the filter strength which adjusts the lighting to stay within the exposure latitude (greatest difference between bright/dark values) which still shows details in both of the digital or film medium in use.

Speaking generally, the 2-stop value (ND 0.6 - the filter's clear portion allows 4x more light to pass vs. darkest portion) effectively compensates average bright sky-to-foreground situations and the soft transition is applicable more often to a scene than the hard transition. The Cavision Graduated Color Filter can be used to change the color temperature in one specific area of the image. One half of the filter is colored and the other half is transparent with a gradual transition between the two.

The filter can be shifted and rotated in the filter stage to affect the portion of the image that is desired.
