Cavision Shoulder Pad Package with Flat Camera Plate and Viewfinder for DLSR Cameras

The Cavision Shoulder Pad Package with Flat Camera Plate & Viewfinder allows you to use your Canon 5D Mk II or other video-enabled DSLR in a manner that approximates the shoulder-mounted style of traditional videography. Shoulder-mounted operation will increase your endurance and reduces the jitter of your shooting for smooth operation over long days on set or on location. The addition of the viewfinder allows finer control over critical focus and scene framing.

This package includes a flat camera plate to accommodate the installation of a Beachtek audio adapter or a battery pack between the plate and the camera. The height of the device plus the vertical adjustment capability of the swing-away viewfinder connector serve to align the included Cavision MHE52 viewfinder to your DSLR camera. This package is designed for Canon 5D Mk II, 7D, T2i and 550D cameras that have an audio adapter or battery pack mounted to the bottom 1/4" thread.

The MHE52 Viewfinder magnifies the LCD image by 6x, employing a single glass element and a comfortable rubber eyecup. The eyepiece is a similar size to those found on high-end digital-cinema cameras such as the Sony F900. The swing-away viewfinder connector piece allows you to remove the camera from the rig easily, enabling a quick switch from shoulder-mounted to handheld shooting.

Two pistol-style handgrips attach to the front of the 12 in (30 cm) standard 15mm rods. Because the Shoulder Pad Package puts your camera on rods, it's easy to expand the system if you want to add, for instance, a follow-focus device or a matte box.
