I have used this to correct for the dirt and smog in landscape shots of Los Angeles. Similarly, it would restore the blue to lightly overcast or hazy skies. On the negative side, cleaning with my microfiber cloth charges the filter with static, which attracts more dust.

This filter really helps with "May-June gloom". It turns drab white skies into a wonderful hue.

The Cokin B2 Hard-Edge Graduated Blue filter is the lightest of the series with just 2/3-stop density and can be used to enhance dull, flat, or hazy skies. The filter is densest at the edge and graduates to clear at the middle, with a hard-edged line of transition. Hard-edge filters are great for images with a defined horizon line. The filter is rectangle so you can selectively choose where the blue edge sits in the framing of the image.
