Overall this is a good filter. Does what it's supposed to do. But I would have preferred if it came with a hard plastic case instead of the paper card and vinyl envelop to protect it from scathing and easier to access.

i recently investigated the cokin system & decided that it is a great system to use for landscape photos. adorama has the best teaching videos in their a l c series. these filters are easy to use, inexpensive & of good quality. i recommend their use for those taking a majority of landscape shots

The Cokin ND filter does exactly what it's intended to do - allow for a very slow shutter speed in order to blur motion. The Cokin filter system allows using a single filter across multiple lenses with various filter thread diameters.

Be careful with the auto-focus setting. The filter could fool the auto-focus system.

Purchased two ND filters, .6 and .9 to complement the round filters I usually use. They're effective as described and a bit easier to use as compared to the round filters.

Just added this filter to other Cokins I already have. The whole series ... especially the graduated NDs ... allow you to put the effect exactly where you need it, and easily stack other filters if needed.

We all know that Cokin A and P-series ND's generally add a slight magenta tint to your image (and if you stack them, your image will be downright purple). Being well aware of that, otherwise, this affordable filter will definitely stop down your exposure by 3 full stops. Great for long exposures. Perfect for the photog who can't expend $300+ for the high end glass filters and those new to longer exposures. But as it is not solid glass, you'll need to be careful to not scratch or chip this filter. But you CAN afford to replace it if you do!

Easy to use. The only con. would be the material is plastic and coud get scratched but with proper handeling/ storage this should never be a problem. This will not give long shutter times in bright sunlight. My slowest ISO is 200 on my Canon 50D. I will get the 9 stop for very bright conditions.I guess I could get another like one and stack them and get 6 stops. All in all I'm pleased.

I use this & other filters like this for reducing glare from sunrise, sunset or overly bright conditions warrant the need for reducing the overall light values in a shot. They are also useful in recording time exposures, getting blur or motion, in a particular scene! Although not used all the time, having the various ND filters, 4X, 6X or 8X, gives you flexibility in your overall compositions!

I use this when the extra stops are needed to get the shot. Also replacing screw on type filters with the Cokin P series filter system due to the ease of use & just having to buy 1 set of filters for all my various sizes of lenses! Although I have bought a few of the screw on type in various sizes, I figured that getting started with this type of system would save me money in the long run. Not having to buy for the 3 different sizes of lenses I have at the present time will be a plus!

great for helping to create a silky look to moving water and any other effect that a slow shutter speed in needed for.

Anyone shooting landscapes should have this in the bag. The Cokin system is great, and won't break the bank....

This does just enough. I use it to extend exposures and this will buy just enough time. It is clear and good all by itself but when stacked with my other ND grads filters you get a magenta color cast. sometimes this effect helps sometimes it doesn't. You are getting what you pay for...but with my budget I will make due and so it does just enough for me!

This is a great filter that should be in every photographers kit. Mine doesn't have any color cast. This is great for situations where you have realy bright skyes and you are taking landscape pictures. It brings the sky light down so you can have well ballanced photos.

The red color cast that this filter adds to every photo is really awful. This is one filter for the trashcan.

As usual, a great Cokin filter. I bought this to allow for slower shutter speeds even with larger f stops. I'm generally happy with all the Cokin products except for their cases; the newer "flip open" design is an improvement over the previous two part design. On those, I've had to use painter's tape to keep the two halves together in the camera bag.
