Excellent tripod especially if doing macro work. The mobility of the head works well if macro photography is your need. Light weight, well built, easy to use. Highly recommended by Mike Moats - tiny landscapes - great tool!!

I purchased an Acratech because I was looking for quality and versatility and this ball head delivers big time. The 45% housing allows for quick adjustments in any shooting situation and the open design is a huge benefit. It doesn't move when you snug it down which was a problem I had with cheaper ball heads. Well worth the investment.

This ball head is absolutely fantastic. Over the years I have used several brands of ball heads and this one is a keeper. It's light and I do not have to worry that It will freeze up like my other ball heads had done in the past. I highly recommend it.

I love this tripod head. It is so versatile and it doesn't "drift" after I set it. It stays where I set it.

I was frustrated with my previous ballhead because of slippage; friend recommended Acratech. Great improvement for shooting macro shots with my Nikon D7000 + 105mm lens.

If you are having problems with stability on your tripod, especially in the portrait mode (forward or downward lens creep on your ballhead because your camera rotates on its mounting screw), this will solve that problem handily. This head is a tidy, light ballhead for all uses. Be sure to order the right, camera specific quick release plate.

I've been doing photography awhile now and used 2 different heads prior to this one but none compare to this ingenious design for quick set up and stability. When used with a good tripod the photographer is all set for any angle any time.

I have only recently received this head. I use it on a Manfrotto tripod. The quick release is great; however, the head did not come with the quick release plate, which was quite annoying. I used it this past Monday for my grandson's graduation at a large arena where I was seated a good distance away from the stage and nearly at the top of the seating area. My camera was mounted at a sharp angle and it held steady once it was set.

It takes a bit getting used to but once I got my technique down with this ballhead, it just became an extension of me. The friction adjustment on the ball works extremely well and you can dial in just how much resistance you want very easily. When you tighten it down, it doesn't move, period. Very well made and built to last. I consider it a good value for the price. I use it with an old Manfrotto heavy aluminum studio tripod and it is rock solid stable.

This is a very solid ballhead. It easily locks in any position with no sag. The gimbal design does take some getting used to. Sometimes you have to rotate the head to get it into the position you need. The quick release is very convenient and quick to operate. Custom quick release plates are a bit expensive. The detent pin has saved my camera at least once.

I use this BH atop my Induro C213 tripod. Together they provide a solid base for my Canon 5d Mk2 using a 70-200 f/2.8L with a 2X TC. I love the simplicity of this ballhead which has only one tension control knob. A real pleasure to use and to carry, as it adds less than a pound to my rig. I only wish that the detent pin worked with the QR plates I already own from a Giotto BH.

A rock solid ball head at a fair price. Its specs are very conservative -- it can hold more than 25 lbs. It is so smooth in its operation. I have tried a lot of ballheads and this is by far the best for the money

For landscape and micro photos of insects The great thing is its compactness. Its G shape and factory setting of angle I cannot comprehend.
