Just got it so review is premature but Adorama is asking me. This was great for the price. Needed longer life for a stronger strobe. My Vanabond Mini is excellent but need more. Was looking at Vanabond but saw this does more and price was close enough to get it instead.

Chose this over PCB's Lithium Extreme for the specs. A manageable 15 lb. bag. Initial charged from drained in 3-4 hrs, but then couldn't get it to power up when I turned it on. I found no help in the manual, but here's what I figured out. I released the four latches and upon separating the inverter from the battery and rotated it 180 degrees and secured the clasps. Voila, rocked the switch and it power up. Likewise turned it back 180 degrees to disconnect the battery for storage intact. Very well designed. All sockets test good with one Photogenic PL2500DR (1,000WS) monobblocs and recycled quickly with the one light. Overall my first impression is that I made a wise choice. Time will tell and I will update after putting it through demand.

this is a great buy i can use studio lights anywhere now only bad thing i can see is if you have 2 or more battery's you need to put them in a safe place so the locking clips do not brake off the battery

Great product. I purchased the PS-800 for my studio a little over a month ago. I have used it on two shoots so far. Both shoots were outside in full mid day California sun. I was using one Elinchrome BX 500 Ri on each shoot as my key light. On the first shoot I used a 42" bounce umbrella. On the second I used a 28" beauty dish. In both cases we were shooting at full power (500 watt seconds) to 3/4 power. On both shoots we were shooting simultaneously with two cameras. The PS-800 had no trouble keeping up. On the first shoot we shot over 630 with flash. On the second we shot about 460. In both cases, at the end of the shoot, the unit was still firing off with no delay or drop in power. I purchased the kit, which includes a second battery, but I haven't had to pull it out yet. The unit is relatively light and easy to carry around and maneuver but very sturdy as well. Recharge time is about an hour or two. Not really sure as I didn't time it but I was surprised with how quickly it recharged. All in all, I really like this product. I look forward to putting it through it's paces with multiple lights on an upcoming shoot.

An indispensable tool for photographers on the move, the PowerStation PS-800 AC/DC On-Location Power Supply offers a reliable and portable power solution for your studio flash and constant draw appliances. This innovative device transforms stored lithium energy into pure sine wave 120V AC power, ensuring your equipment operates optimally even when you're far from a power outlet.
Designed with the needs of professional photographers in mind, the PowerStation PS-800 is the ultimate solution for powering your monobloc studio flash packs that demand stable 120AC current. Whether you're shooting in a remote location or an unconventional environment (excluding underwater), this power supply ensures your equipment performs at its best.
The fan-cooled PowerStation PS-800 is equipped with flexible dual switchable modes, allowing you to plug in up to three units simultaneously. One mode supports high peak strobe generators up to 3000ws, delivering up to 500 flashes from a 500ws head. The other mode provides a constant flow of power for laptops, chargers, and other low-power appliances.
In addition to its AC power capabilities, the PowerStation PS-800 also features three USB ports for charging devices like iPads, iPhones, and iPods. This ensures you can keep all your essential devices powered up, even when you're on the go.
Unlike other power supplies that use square wave or modified input, the PowerStation PS-800 uses inverters to convert the battery's DC (direct current) into an AC (alternating current). This pure sine wave output is crucial for photo lighting, as using less can compromise the electronics and deteriorate monobloc and power packs. This superior design offers excellent compatibility with a wide range of high-draw flashes, even at 3000ws.
Despite its powerful capabilities, the PowerStation PS-800 is compact and portable, with the main pack weighing just 10 pounds. It comes with an interchangeable 12,000mAh Lithium Ion Phosphate battery module, which weighs a mere 4.85 pounds. This battery module can be recharged with the AC adapter charger in just three hours, and you can even power the PowerStation PS-800 from your car's 12V accessory outlet.
With the PowerStation PS-800, you can harness the power of a supercharged Lithium battery to provide AC current to any photo location. This is more than just a power supply; it's a game-changer for photographers who need reliable power on the go.
