Great camera. Very professional. Has every connection that you will need. Would be nice if Blackmagic sent a list of accessories that you would/could need to use with this camera including Focus Demand, Zoom demand, MFT lenses, etc. Major gain adjustments needed in low light. I'm concerned on how grainy my video might look in low light conditions.

Positives: - Excellent integration with Black Magic Design?s ATEM switchers, for camera control, including color adjustment, focus and potentially zoom, if using a power zoom lens. - Everything you like about the quality of the BMPCC4k applies to this product too, but now you get all that in a live HDMI feed for streaming or recording. - Form factor perfectly suited for on-tripod work, in studio or event spaces. Negatives: - Initial colors straight out of camera are flat and desaturated, even if you use the factory-installed conversion to Rec. 709. Count on building your own LUTs, or using ATEM camera control for color adjustment. - One-shot focus sometimes slightly overshoots or undershoots its target, and needs manual adjustment to achieve desired sharpness. - The few power-zoom lenses you can buy for a native micro 4/3 mount are neither fast nor sharp. Count on grabbing the lens physically to adjust zoom, or use fixed-focus lenses. - No SDI support in this model.

This is a great little camera for the price. We purchased one, and loved it and had to buy a second one. We use it in a church setting. I guess the only issues I have will be its poor low light quality (be ready to pour lots of light on this one) and also not being able to manually white balance using the old fashion white cardboard. You can only set the color temperature and we sometimes have it not consistent with other cameras we own.

What sets the Studio Camera 4K Plus apart is its unparalleled integration of high-end studio camera capabilities into a sleek, portable design, making it the world's most sophisticated self-contained live production camera. The Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus is engineered to deliver cinematic quality images, thanks to its advanced 4K sensor with up to 25,600 ISO and Blackmagic's Generation 5 color science. This technology ensures that even in the most challenging lighting conditions, from dimly lit venues to moonlit scenes, your footage will have the dynamic range and color fidelity typically found in digital film cameras.
The camera's sensor boasts a high resolution of 4096 x 2160, suitable for both HD and Ultra HD projects, and supports frame rates from 23.98 fps up to 60 fps. With 13 stops of dynamic range, you can expect deep blacks and vibrant whites, providing an ideal canvas for post-production color correction.
For live production versatility, the Studio Camera 4K Plus is not just confined to switcher use. It can record Blackmagic RAW directly to USB disks, offering the flexibility to capture high-quality footage for a variety of applications, including chat shows, television production, broadcast news, sports, educational content, conference presentations, and even weddings. The camera's large 7" viewfinder, complete with a sunshade, makes framing shots a breeze, while the lightweight carbon fiber reinforced polycarbonate body ensures it is both durable and easy to handle on the move.
The MFT lens mount opens up a world of possibilities with a wide array of affordable, high-resolution photographic lenses. The active lens mount allows for remote adjustment, and with optional focus and zoom demands, you can achieve precise lens control directly from the tripod handles, mimicking the feel of an expensive B4 broadcast lens without the associated shake during adjustments.
The Studio Camera 4K Plus is designed with both physical and touchscreen controls for ease of use. Adjustments for brightness, contrast, and focus peaking are at your fingertips, while the touchscreen interface provides access to camera settings, LUTs, and custom presets. The large tally light, visible up to 20 feet away, indicates on-air status and is compatible with both SDI and HDMI tally standards, ensuring seamless communication with ATEM live production switchers.
For audio, the camera includes built-in microphones that are resistant to shock and wind, offering great sound even in challenging conditions. The Pro model further enhances audio capabilities with professional 2-channel balanced XLR inputs, providing the high-quality audio that broadcasters and audio engineers demand.
The USB-C expansion port on the Studio Camera 4K Plus is a gateway to recording on external disks and connecting a range of accessories. Blackmagic RAW, the camera's recording format, captures the sensor's full quality, preserving rich detail and color for post-production while maintaining small file sizes and fast performance.
In summary, the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus is a revolutionary tool for creators seeking professional-grade imagery in live production, with the added benefit of portability and versatility to adapt to any filming environment.
