What I really like about the light are the barn doors. I use them to direct the light at the subject without throwing excessive light on the background. The dimming and color temperature features help customize the light to complement existing light and not overpower it. Finally, the screw hole on the short end of the light allows me to orient the light vertically when needed.

Unfortunately you need to have batteries in both slots for the light to work. So no hot-swapping batteries. Good mid to close up light and the barn doors are handy.

So feature rich for so little money! Variable color, variable brightness, comes with case and power adapter, stand mount, and remote control! Good brightness. I like this house brand very much. The only corners cut is that metal parts are steel - barn doors, U bracket, and stand mount, making the light a little more weight to transport to shoots. This will serve me well until I make it big.

You have to buy the batteries separately. Battery life span is very poor. But when they are charged, the light works pretty good. Just know what is convenient for you.

Amazing: flat even light, plenty of it, and adjustments work like they should.

What a wonderful time to be alive and lighting talent! This particular panel DOES THE TRICK!!! It’s substantive, yet lightweight; compact & a perfect size. I’d researched affordable light stand-mounted LED instruments. SO many “on-camera” lights out there. Fine…but not for my locations. This cost-effective and powerful instrument suites me just fine. I read some reviews that decry the button/dial controls on the real panel. Not a big deal at all. It does take a bit of learning to understand the controls’ functionalities: take a little time with the supplied directions and soon you’ll understand the design logic. ALSO, do invest in the very reasonably priced Dazzne 2 Pack NP-F970 Battery 6600mAh 7.4v Dual Charger US Plug OR similar battery product. Nice for exterior fill when AC power’s not available. This bi-color instrument lights up the room with an impressive bright, totally controllable throw. The barn doors & diffusion plate are wonderful peripherals. Durable yolk.

I've been using this light for a couple months now, and it's proving to be very effective and easy to use. I love the portability and light output it provides. It's well-built and lightweight. No, this is not a top-quality professional light. It's meant for smaller jobs where impeccable lighting technique isn't required. But it does get the job done, especially when you're on a tight budget.

It'd be nice if it had slightly more throw to it but it is a good on-camera light and close range light. I like how it has barn doors, which is uncommon for small lights like this. Extremely portable. It is well built and has a very sturdy feel to it.

This was one of those "Pop-up" adds the happen during a check-out procedure. After reading the specs and seeing that all the Specs were with-in a Pro-summer window I added it to my cart. I have this in my Pelican Video case. My main sports V-camera is a Sony NX Unit that actually has an LED Array built in just above the on-board Stereo Mics. Those LED's are ok for ENG work in a Quick "In The Field" video but I thought wouldn't it be nice... This uses a Sony "L" Series Battery so I already have 4-5 of those in this bag. Between the additional Light and the built in Barn-Doors on this light has doubled my "In The Field" capability allowing me to get back a little further and Direct my light! Don't be fooled by the price, at the same time you can "Take Some More Chances", your not going to drop a LED Light into a Puddle or Smash it during a shoot!

A decent little light. Sadly the purchase of proprietary batteries and a charger does up the price.

Well you can't beat the price but there is a lot of plastic and it has that Chinese sound and feel.

The CLAR 288 Bi-Color On-Camera LED worked wonderfully for green screen tests. This lighting unit casts a nice even broad soft light. The build quality of the unit is terrific - all metal, no plastic. I'm looking forward to purchasing other CLAR lighting units.

Great, handy light. Comes with a helpful handle, and the barn doors work well. Wish it was a little stronger, but the quality of light (CRI) is excellent, so I'm satisfied.

Nice light when it works, but the battery drains when not being charged from full charge to no charge in approximately one week. Not a good surprise when you want to use it and the battery reads zero power. My other rechargeables do not discharge at that rate and are still mostly full after a week.

I normally use Dedo Lights Ledzilla The best on camera light I have ever owned. I need a back up light and this one seemed to have good specs at a really low price. I liked the size of it as I was intending to put a Newer soft box that could fit on it when needed. I love the ability to adjust the brightness and to change the light color from day light to tungsten. The reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because and this is a weird phenomenon when the barn doors are closed down a bit you can see the rows of LED’S lines of dark and light. When they are wide open the light is fine. The other problem I have with this light is when the barn doors are closed down to put the light away it can be very difficult to open them back up because they are very stiff. Great for them not moving but hard when the are closed down and you need to open them back up at a later time. On the whole I like the light.

I like this light because of the build quality, brightness, and compact design. I also love that there is an AC power input you can use if you have access to power and you're not moving around. At 3200 the color seems to be still a little blue but it's not terrible, I haven't experimented with gels to fix that yet. If you are shooting something in very low light and just want a little fill, bring something to diffuse the light even more because even at 10% the light is still pretty bright. If I'm being super picky, I wish the color / brightness controls were knobs instead of buttons, but that's just personal preference. The buttons work perfectly fine and keep the light compact and durable. The case it comes with is nice to have but is unnecessarily large, which is good i guess if you want to use it for other wires and things but I usually just put the lights in my camera bag because they're so small.

I was really surprised at how nice these lights are. They are built with quality and style. Work great and easy to use. We purchased one and liked it so much that we ordered two more. Highly recommend these lights to anyone.

I bought this light along with the softbox/grid accessory. I planned to use it primarily for small film work and easy portable setups (always a positive to have a good light with you). I was blown away with this product for it's price! I did several tests with the light in different lighting conditions to test it's color accuracy and overall build quality. It has a very durable build made of quality metals and plastics. The included remote and power supply were both of good quality as well (on a side bar, it is so rare for a power cord to impress me, but this thing is about 10 to 12 feet long and that is something to commend.) The remote works well though I won't be using it myself very much. Quality of the light is what I'm sure you are curious about, so I will say that in my real world tests, I couldn't tell a noticeable difference when matching lights. Additionally, by itself the light is exceptionally bright with or without the softbox/grid. Highly recommended for video/photo.

The product video claims that this light only needs one battery to function. NOT TRUE. You must have two batteries.

Let there be light

Great light for the money. I like the all aluminum/steel construction. It's a very solid unit.
Step up your videography with the powerful CLAR Slim 288 On-Camera BiColor SMD LED Video Light. The wide spectral 95+ CRI wireless lightweight on-DV/DSLR shoe mount LED, features the latest innovative LED technology, SMD surface mount design, combined with bi-color capabilities. The advanced 30w SMD LED chips provides an amazing cool, flicker-free performance, powered by two NP-F L-Series batteries or the AC adapter for continuous power.
Enjoy the digital Bi-Color daylight to tungsten color selection and dimming 10-100% output at a touch of a button, with the included 2.4GHz wireless remote. The remote has 99 individual channels, however, you can assign multiple units to single channels for universal simultaneous control. Just 2 AAA batteries keep you in touch and in the light for up to 100 feet / 30m. All of your setting are retained, even after the default 15 second battery conservation screen shut down, right where you left off.
Clad in a slim, elegant aluminum housing, the vented light stays cool despite its sparkling brightness. Enjoy the digital daylight to tungsten color-changing and 10-100% output at a touch of a button, either on board, or with the 2.4GHz wireless remote.
Pro barndoors and diffusion are incorporated on the frame that accepts the included yoke stand adapter as well.
This svelte powerhouse is ideal for the style sensitive videographer in any wardrobe.

SMD½stands for½Surface-Mount Device. Here, SMD's are advanced technology specialized LED components that were developed to save space without sacrificing performance. The smaller SMD's eliminate the LED bulb shape common to the older diodes, and, as their name implies, they are "surface mountable", with little or no leads to contend with, making them a dream for use on electrical boards.
LED½stands for½Light Emitting Diode. One of the brightest advances in technology is the advent of the light-emitting diode (LED), a two-lead semiconductor light source. When an appropriate voltage is applied to the leads, electrons are able to recombine with electron 'holes' within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons. This effect is called electroluminescence, and the color of the light is determined by the specific energy band gap of the semiconductor.½
LEDs are small, durable and need little power, so they are used in LED strobe lights or continuous camera lights without detrimental heat output, and operate at a safe, low voltage, instead of the 250+ volts commonly found in Xenon strobe tube-based lighting. This is especially useful in lighting for videographers, where space is at a premium and bulky voltage-raising circuitry is undesirable.½
