This 30-degree fabric grid is ideal for creating a soft, diffused lighting effect, keeping the renowned Chimera soft light focused on your subject and not on the background. It offers a variety of beam-widths from 20 to 60 degrees, allowing you to select the effect that best suits your specific needs. The size of the individual cells are: 20 = 5/8"; 30 = 1 1/8"; 40 = 1"; 50 = 2"; 60 = 3".

Invented by photographer Stephen Pilby, the Chimera Soft Fabric Egg Crate Grids are transforming the light control options for location film and video crews, as well as photographers. These grids, devoid of any supporting frame, attach to all four sides of the Chimera Lightbank's front recess area via a hook & loop system, providing a controlled beam spread.

Once your shoot is complete, simply detach the grid, give it an energetic diagonal snap to align the grid's joints, and fold it down to near pocket-size. This makes it perfect for travel and location work. Most Chimera Lightbanks are compatible with this fabric grid hook & loop system (not available on the Chimera PRO II or Chimera Mini/Maxi Lightbanks). The Chimera Soft Fabric Egg Crate Grid designations are 20, 40, and 60 degrees. Beam angles at 50% intensity are 30, 40, and 60 degrees. This grid is available for all sizes of rectangular Lightbanks and strip banks.
