exact same problem, the pin that aligns the bracket snapped and then later the screw that connects the braket to the ring broke off inside the screw mount, rendering the whole thing useless.

It worked alright for a brief period. the anti-twist pin that is on the mounting bracket and secures the speedring in place snaps right off under the slightest bit of pressure. There was another spot where they could have put a second pin but for whatever reason the manufacturer chose not to. this one little thing may have helped. So i thought i would try to use it without the pin. I couldnt line up the bracket with the stand and when i twisted it, must not know my own strength, the part that screws into the bottom of the speedring was stripped and snapped right off! apparently it cant handle a little torque. Like i said look elsewhere, i may very well end up ordering the Westcott magic slipper like i should have in the first place.
