Great!

The speedring is good. It attaches easily with no problems. I used it on a Chimera 32 X 24 softbox with a Canon 430ex and it works fine so I guess it can work with every other size softbox except maybe the stripbox as mentioned in the other review. Everything attaches good. It also has a good cold shoe mount for your flash. Great service from Adorama as usual! :-D 2 thumbs up!

Handy & Good Quality

I really like this speed ring. It fits all of my Nikon, Canon and Vivitar flashes. Great for softboxes. Quick and easy to set up. The only downside is that I bought this particular speed ring for a stripbox, which has a more narrow box. This speed ring is not meant for small strip boxes. It will work, but I ripped my small strip box trying to get it to work for me. Bad idea. Another small problem that I had was that I had trouble attaching the speed ring to my lightstand. The light stand did not have a long enough thread and thus I tried to make it work. The last thread on the spreed ring stripped out when it fell off. I guess I'm full of bad ideas. Don't make the same mistakes I made.

Dedicated Speed Rings are designed primarily for smaller, open-faced quartz instruments. These Speed Rings allow you to work with single or multiple sources within a Lightbank, which enables you to change the intensity of your source instantly.

The Speed Rings are the hub of the Chimera Lightbank system. These Speed Rings enable you to mount any Chimera Lightbank to just about any size or type of strobe available. Machined 6061 - T6 aluminum or injection molded, 33% glass-filled nylon components ensure that Chimera's Rings will stand up to the daily heat and tension of the working studio. Precision crafted inserts guarantee a positive connection to every strobe head.

These Speed Rings (can be used singly or they can be ganged to form a double or triple head assembly. These various stand adapters, described in accessories, will hold your single or multiple Speed Ring set-ups in place every time. Use the Chimera Camera Bracket to connect your portable strobe and Mini Bank to the camera. A further option is using up to four strobes with our 9011 ring and a Quartz Bank.

There are two Speed Ring sizes: regular (6.0 aluminum and 6.2 nylon), and large (7-3 aluminum and 7.5 nylon). Because of this size difference, two pole lengths are also available (regular and short) to assure a proper fit of the Lightbank skin.
