Review Summary

I needed a quality built low power, wide field eyepiece for my new 9.25" Edge HD OTA that also wouldn't break the bank. This 56mm eyepiece fits what I have wanted. My eyesight isn't as good as it once was so I hope this 56mm eyepiece will make viewing the cosmos more efficient. We have had a pretty lousy late winter/early spring as far as cloud cover, wind, snow and rain showers and I haven't had any real opportunity to view through this eyepiece, What I can say is this eyepiece is much lighter than the 23mm eyepiece that came with my OTA. This eyepiece has made balancing my OTA easier.

The eyepiece I ordered arrived on time for Christmas and in good condition. Adorama carries telescope parts and accessories at a reasonable price. Recommended.

Seems to be pretty good. I have a 4 1/2" f:8. I haven't actually looked at the night sky with it, but the phone pole a half mile away comes in quite clearly. "High Voltage" sign crystal clear.

Good quality eyepiece. Yes, the field of view is a bit tight, but good for initial alignments/adjustments.

This is a great little Barlow lens. It's easy to use with my 1.25 size eyepiece.

It did exactly what it advertised it could do. I did not like the original "finder scope (two small red dots of light) that came with my telescope. By decreasing the magnification of my eyepiece from 20 mm to 32mm I was able to ALMOST turn my entire telescope into a "finder scope". I only wish I had bought something like a 40mm which might have worked even better. But alll the 40mm I saw had a narrower field of view than ADORAMA"S 32mm.

Nice heavy, well made eye piece. I use the 15mm on a 60mm f13 scope, as my planetary eyepiece. The Images are crisp, edge to edge. Also great for splitting doubles.

This was an easy and inexpensive way to modify our telescope. My 3yo loves that he can now see clear views of Jupiter and it's four moons. The site was easy to explore and the next time I look to upgrading my telescope, we'll be back.

It has a nice finish overall but the optics is less then desired. For the price meade 4000 series 40mm possl would perform better then this.

Nice accessory for a telescope. Easy to use, well built, should give many years of service.

The quality is ok for the price, but the angle of view is quite small (barely covers the moon) and with the celestron cometron telescope, I have to keep adjusting the position of the telescope which causes shake all the time. If your telescope's mount is alt-azimuth mount, then this is the problem with such a small angle of view.

I ordered a Meade laser collimator and was informed that it was on backorder. I called customer service and was able to modify the order. Adorama made the process quick and easy. I have a high level of confidence in your company. You will be my first choice for any future purchases.

Yes. Nice crisp images to the edge. I can wear my glasses with the long eye relief so I don't have to take them on and off when looking at info from my goto hand controller.

Great upgrade to the eyepieces provided with my telescope. Had to get a special adapter for my digital camera use but may well be worth it based on my naked eye usage so far. Bright and sharp to the eye.

I am using this eyepiece on a Celestron C70 for terrestrial viewing via the standard eyepiece adapter supplied with the C70. This gives me a bright clear image with a magnification of about 18. The feature I like best is the long eye relief because I wear glasses. This eyepiece is longer and heavier, however, than the zoom eyepiece that comes with the C70.

I recently purchased this item for my Celestron NexStar 5 SE telescope and I was impressed with its construction and optical quality. It performed well even in the light polluted area of Bergen County where I reside. Also the price was right when compared to other vendors.

I enjoy using this eyepiece for viewing nebula, galaxies and other relatively large field objects. It produces a nice wide crisp view. It is also handy when trying to locate objects before upping the magnification.

Great planetary eyepiece for long refractors

Because your astronomical journey deserves the finest in optical enhancement, the Celestron 4mm Omni Series 1.25" Plossl Eyepiece stands out as a superior choice for enthusiasts and seasoned stargazers alike. This meticulously designed eyepiece is a testament to Celestron's commitment to quality, offering a premium symmetrical Plossl optical design that incorporates four elements to deliver crisp, clear views of the cosmos.
The Omni Series eyepiece is engineered with blackened lens edges, a critical feature that reduces internal reflections and maximizes contrast, allowing you to discern finer details in celestial objects. Each lens surface is treated with a multi-layer coating, optimizing light transmission and enhancing contrast, so every observation is imbued with clarity and sharpness.
Celestron's attention to detail extends to the eyepiece's construction, where a two-step anodizing process is employed to prevent unwanted reflections from the top eyepiece barrel. This thoughtful design choice sets the Omni Series apart from competitors, as many other manufacturers overlook this aspect, leading to potential glare and reduced observation quality.
Furthermore, the threaded barrels of the Omni eyepiece are compatible with 1.25" Celestron thread-in filters, offering versatility for your viewing experience. Whether you're observing the delicate crescent of Venus, the rings of Saturn, or the craters of the moon, this eyepiece is designed to enhance your viewing session with its reliable and durable performance.
With its high-quality construction, durable materials, and the reputable Celestron brand name, the 4mm Omni Series 1.25" Plossl Eyepiece is a valuable addition to any astronomer's toolkit. Its affordability and positive customer feedback make it a compelling choice for those seeking to elevate their celestial observations. Whether you're gazing at the night sky from the comfort of your backyard or venturing out to a remote dark sky site, this eyepiece is designed to bring the wonders of the universe into sharp, breathtaking focus.
