We are giving them as late Christmas presents to our hiking kids.  We choose the binoculars for their high recommendations on line.

These binoculars are light but rugged, and have great clarity and range of view for compact binoculars I can use for long hikes.

Perfect binoculars for hiking and birding!

Used these for the first time on a bird walk.  Able to see shades of red/gray/blue, etc. to differentiate subspecies.
Easy to use, perfect resolution.  
Heads and shoulders better than 10 year old binoculars that I kept in my bookshelf.
Happy that I bought this model.  
Also considered Hawke, but these were too highly recommended to pass on.

I have just received this item and gave a it a quick perusal before re-packing it as a Christmas gift, so this is a first impression. It was purchased for travel/nature use and seems a good combination of optical quality, which is excellent, and lightness and smaller size. It replaces a compact 8X25 in the ($) range and is sharper, clearer and much easier to focus and use. Definitely worth the money and a little extra weight.

Good Compact Binocular

I am using these for birding and am very happy with my purchase.  They are very usable for eyeglass wearers.  They are fairly light-weight and are very comfortable to use with the provided back-harness.
